World Cultural Festival coming up in Hanoi

"The first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi" was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the People's Committee of Hanoi City.

The event is considered a key cultural exchange activity of Vietnam in 2025, aiming to honor the value of cultural diversity and enhance people-to-people exchanges. The festival brings together 48 participating countries with 45 national cultural spaces, 34 international culinary booths, 23 domestic and foreign art troupes, along with 12 publishing units and 22 countries participating in the international film screening program.

Here, the public will be able to admire unique cultural colors, from performing arts, music , folk dance, traditional costumes, to cinema, fine arts and world cuisine - all blending together in the heritage space of Thang Long Imperial Citadel - the thousand-year-old cultural convergence center of the Capital, a world cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO.

The festival is designed with many experiential activities, performances, and public interactions throughout three days.

The opening ceremony took place from 8:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. on October 10, 2025 at the central stage of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, bringing together many famous Vietnamese artists such as Tung Duong, Hoa Minzy... and international artists, bringing emotional performances, harmoniously combining tradition and modernity.

The closing ceremony will take place from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on October 12, 2025 at the same location, with the participation of Truc Nhan, Hoang Thuy Linh... and many international artists, promising to bring energetic and emotional performances. The ceremonies all combine cross-art performances and 3D Mapping projections, which are the convergence of five continents in creative light and solidarity. All are moved in three-dimensional space with the message "Culture is the bridge of humanity, creativity is the common language of the world".

In addition, the program “Heritage Footsteps” takes place on the evening of October 11, 2025 at the central stage. “Heritage Footsteps” is a unique highlight of the festival, gathering nearly 100 traditional costumes from participating countries, promising to be the richest and most spectacular international national costume performance ever in Vietnam.

Along with that, the exhibition and multi-national cultural space with the theme "Cultural Road", visitors can visit booths from nearly 50 countries such as China, Korea, Japan, the United States, Russia, France, Iran, Angola, Laos, Philippines...

Within the framework of the festival, international film screenings will continuously serve the audience at the Imperial Hall (from 9am to 9pm on October 11 - October 12, 2025). The round stage will be where Vietnamese and international art troupes will perform special acts such as Central Highlands Gong, Bac Ninh Quan Ho, Cheo, Chau Van along with traditional dances and music from Japan, Russia, Cuba, Mongolia, Indonesia...

The Food Street (from 9am to 9:30pm on October 11 - October 12, 2025) will be a paradise for food lovers, where visitors can enjoy signature flavors from around the world and participate in exciting cooking workshops.

The festival marked a record number of participating representative agencies, demonstrating the strong attraction of Hanoi, a center of cultural convergence, where civilizations meet and spread noble human values.

For three days, October 10-12, 2025, Thang Long Imperial Citadel will become the world's "common home", where music, colors, flavors and emotions blend in an atmosphere of friendship and solidarity.

With the motto "Culture is the foundation - Art is the means", the first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi is not only a large-scale cultural event, but also a typical cultural foreign activity of Vietnam in 2025, aiming to become an annual event of international stature.

The festival is a place to gather the quintessence, spread identity, connect five continents in the heart of the thousand-year-old capital, contribute to connecting countries, promote people-to-people exchanges, enhance understanding and mutual trust between Vietnam and the international community; at the same time, affirm the important role and contribution of culture in implementing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), towards peace, cooperation and common prosperity.
