A representative of Shopee Vietnam said: "When building policies, Shopee always strives to balance the operational efficiency of the platform and the interests of sellers in a harmonious way. Each adjustment in fees is carefully considered, based on listening to market needs as well as the current socio -economic context. From there, we can best support sellers to optimize their operating costs, in parallel with expanding programs to support sellers, especially the group of small, medium and micro enterprises (MSMEs) to develop sustainable businesses on the online platform."

Reduce fees for essential goods

Based on the market context and demand, Shopee will adjust the fixed fee reduction to 1% for some categories in the essential product group such as: food & beverage, mother & baby and home & living, applied from June 1, 2025 (for non-Mall sellers) and June 6, 2025 (for Mall sellers).

With this change, Shopee hopes to help sellers in the essential goods industry operate better in the current volatile economic context, while creating conditions for consumers to access a variety of essential products at good prices.

According to Shopee's internal data, in the last 6 months of 2024 alone, the number of orders in essential categories such as Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and food increased by more than 50% year-on-year, with most of the growth coming from local sellers.

For many key product categories in the Electronics, Home & Living, etc. categories, Shopee maintains the same fixed fee. The remaining product categories (Beauty, Pet Care, etc.) will have their fixed fees increased by 0.4 - 2%.

In addition, seller support programs, including free shipping incentives up to 500,000 VND and discount vouchers from 8 - 12%, are maintained throughout key shopping campaigns throughout the year, helping sellers operate stably, boost business efficiency and improve competitiveness.

Strengthening MSME community support programs

Along with the fee adjustment policy, Shopee continues to invest in long-term support programs specifically for domestic businesses, with a special focus on the MSME group. Specifically:

  • Shopee Enables SMEs: The program was officially launched by Shopee and the Vietnam E-commerce Association in September 2024, with the support of the Embassy and Consulate General of Singapore in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. With the first project of 2025 in collaboration with Thai Nguyen province, Shopee will support businesses in the province to connect with e-commerce platforms through direct and online training courses, access to new forms of marketing such as livestream, video , affiliate... as well as increase business recognition on the platform. It is expected that by 2026, the project will support sellers in the province on the platform to double their revenue.
  • The program "Shopee Tinh Hoa Viet Chung Suc 2025" which created a lot of buzz in 2024 continues to return to Shopee Live, with a grander scale and more creative content. The goal is to promote outstanding regional agricultural specialties, introduce many unique "made in Vietnam" brands and spread Vietnamese cultural values and quintessence, contributing to raising the spirit of "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese products".
  • At the regional level, Shopee is a strategic partner of the annual ASEAN Online Sale Day event - an initiative initiated and led by the Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency. At the same time, the Selling International Program (SIP) operated by Shopee since 2021 has contributed to promoting exports via e-commerce for hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese businesses. To date, more than 350,000 Vietnamese sellers have participated in SIP, with more than 15 million products distributed to the regional market.
