Vietnamese student won third prize at Huawei ICT Competition

The Huawei ICT Competition 2022 - 2023 is being held for the seventh time, marking the largest scale ever. Students have to go through many intense national and regional rounds, overcoming many strong opponents to advance to the global finals.

The Vietnamese team excellently won the third prize of the Huawei ICT Competition 2022 - 2023

The Vietnamese team consists of 3 students: Nguyen Quoc Hung (Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology - PTIT), Tran Duc Lam and Vu Quang Hai (FPT University); led by Dr. Tran Tien Cong (PTIT) competing in the global final round.

Surpassing many talented candidates from leading universities in the field of ICT training in the world , the Vietnamese team won the third prize in the Cloud category. This year, the global final round includes 3 parts: Practice, Innovation and Industry. In which, the Practice competition has 3 categories: Network, Cloud and Computing.

Attending the final round and award ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Minh Hong - Chairman of Vietnam Digital Communications Association (VDCA) and Mr. Vu Kiem Van - Vice Chairman and General Secretary of VDCA. Sharing after the event, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hong highly appreciated the quality and value that the competition brought to young talents. He shared: "Huawei ICT Competition is a practical and useful playground to find and honor young ICT talents, and at the same time help them connect with businesses through Huawei's talent bridge program (ICT Talent Bridge)".

Xiao Haijun, President of Global Partner Sales and Development, Huawei Enterprise Business Group, said: "Digital talent and digital skills lay the foundation for the development of the digital economy . Therefore, Huawei will share ICT education resources with more schools around the world in the future. We plan to build 7,000 Huawei ICT Academies by 2026, training more than 1 million students each year, significantly improving students' digital knowledge and skills to enter a more dynamic and inclusive digital world."

The annual Huawei ICT Competition was first held in 2015, aiming to create a fair competition and international exchange platform for university and college students around the world, as well as to improve students' information technology knowledge and practical ability. The competition is a key project of Huawei's Seeds for the Future 2.0 initiative, and has so far attracted more than 580,000 students from 85 countries and regions to participate.
