On October 12, the Department of Health of Cao Bang and Gia Lai provinces coordinated to organize working delegations to visit, give family medicine bags, provide health consultations and support environmental disinfection and water source disinfection in the communes of Hoa An, Lung Nam, Thanh Long, Phuc Hoa, Quang Han and the two wards of Tan Giang and Thuc Phan.

In particular, Hoa An commune was given 300 family medicine bags (including essential medicines such as fever reducers, stomachache, diarrhea, allergies, skin antiseptics, eye drops, personal bandages...). Quang Han commune was given 400 family medicine bags to promptly support people in health care after the flood.

In Lung Nam commune, the working group of Gia Lai Department of Health and Cao Bang Department of Health distributed 100 bags of medicine to households flooded by the impact of storm No. 11, and sprayed disinfectants to treat the environment at 13 households in 2 hamlets: Nam San and Nam Nhung.

Doctors from the Gia Lai Department of Health delegation provided health advice and gave family medicine bags to people in Lung Nam commune.

In Thanh Long commune, the working group handed over 100 family medicine bags to the People's Committee and Thanh Long Commune Health Station to give to people in areas affected by natural disasters; distributed Aquatabs 67mg water disinfectant tablets to 16 households, treated water sources in water tanks of 7 households in Doan Ket hamlet, and sprayed disinfectants on the environment for over 30 households in Doan Ket, Binh Tam, and Thuong Ha hamlets.

In Phuc Hoa commune, providing family medicine kits to 9 severely affected households; disinfecting the living areas of 16 households and some agency headquarters in groups 3, 4, 7 and the Medical Point, which were deeply flooded due to recent floods.

In Tan Giang ward and Thuc Phan ward, environmental treatment teams of Cao Bang Health sector and Gia Lai Health sector conducted disinfection spraying to treat the environment at Hop Giang 2, 3 Residential Group, Hop Giang 5 Residential Group and Stadium (Thuc Phan ward); Hoa Chung 5 Residential Group (Tan Giang ward).

After storms and floods, the environment is polluted, posing many potential risks of disease outbreaks, especially in flooded areas. Early and drastic implementation of post-storm and flood recovery, environmental sanitation, clean water and disease prevention and control is extremely necessary. The practical activities of working groups for localities and people who are heavily affected by storms and floods contribute to supporting people's health care and quickly stabilizing their lives after natural disasters.
