Exciting 2025 National Youth Swimming and Diving Championship

VHO - On July 10, at the city's swimming and diving club, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang coordinated with the Vietnam Aquatic Sports Association to open the 2025 National Youth Swimming and Diving Championship.

This year's tournament attracted the participation of more than 450 male and female athletes from 42 delegations from provinces and cities with strong swimming and diving movements such as: Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi , Hai Phong, Da Nang, Vinh Long, An Giang...., competing in events for men and women.

Swimming has 260 athletes from 26 groups; diving has 199 athletes from 16 groups. Da Nang has 31 excellent athletes participating, such as: Hoang Quang Dat, Le Van Chieu, Vo Minh Tai, Phan Duc Bao Khang, Nguyen Nam Thanh, Tran Thai Tuong, Nguyen Tri Viet, Le Thi Thuy Trang, Tran Ngoc Bang Tam...

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the athletes continued to compete in the swimming finals.

According to the regulations, swimmers compete in the following events: 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1,500m freestyle; 50m, 100m, 200m breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly; 200m, 400m medley; 4x100m, 4x200m freestyle; 4x100m medley...

In diving, athletes compete in the events of fins, double fins, speed diving, air diving and relay races.

The 2025 National Youth Swimming and Diving Championship takes place from July 5 to 10. After 5 days of exciting competition, in the swimming category, the Ho Chi Minh City team is temporarily leading with 35 gold medals, 35 silver medals and 33 bronze medals.

The National Defense Sports Center 4 delegation ranked second with 18 gold medals, 16 silver medals, and 8 bronze medals. The National Defense Sports Center 5 delegation ranked third with 17 gold medals, 11 silver medals, and 13 bronze medals.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang Nguyen Trong Thao, the tournament aims to help units and localities evaluate athlete training and select promising, talented and excellent athletes to supplement the national youth team, contributing to raising the position of Vietnamese sports in the regional and international arena.
