For generations, the Mid-Autumn Festival has not only been a beautiful traditional culture, but also a festival associated with children's childhood, with profound humanistic values, expressing the spirit of reunion and love in every Vietnamese family.
This year's Mid-Autumn Festival in Da Nang became more special when the People's Committee of Hoa Vang commune organized the "Full Moon Festival Night" program right at the national relic of Bo Ban communal house.
Under the shade of an ancient banyan tree, by the well and in the mossy communal house yard, hundreds of children live in a traditional festival space, imbued with the breath of their homeland.
The highlight of the program was the skillfully recreated folk games, from making lanterns, playing the traditional game of "o an quan", "passing the no" to quizzing the Hang and Cuoi... This was the first time many students had the chance to directly experience the traditional games that were associated with their ancestors' childhood.
Huynh Ngoc Truc Linh (10 years old, Hoa Vang commune) excitedly shared: "Until now, I only heard my parents talk about the game of Chinese checkers, but today I got to play it for real. I really enjoyed it and also learned how to calculate and think quickly."
Meanwhile, Tran Quoc Huy (11 years old) said: "This is the first time I've made a lantern by hand. It's a bit difficult but very fun. I hope there will be activities like this every year so we can understand more about the Mid-Autumn Festival."

Not only bringing joy through folk games, the festival is also bustling with vibrant lion dances, sparkling lantern processions and colorful Mid-Autumn Festival trays.
The joy was even more complete when the People's Committee of Hoa Vang commune presented 120 gifts (VND 500,000/gift, including cash, candy and lanterns) to children in difficult circumstances. The gifts contained sentiments, promptly encouraging the children to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies and life.
Mr. Ho Tang Phuc, Vice Chairman of Hoa Vang Commune People's Committee, said that the full moon festival held at Bo Ban communal house not only brings joy to children, but also contributes to honoring and promoting the traditional cultural values of the homeland. Through this activity, the community will be more aware of preserving and promoting the heritage left by their ancestors, while connecting the younger generation with sustainable historical values.
"The Commune People's Committee always focuses on taking care of children, especially children in difficult circumstances, so that each child has the opportunity to play, study and develop comprehensively," Mr. Phuc shared.

Not only bustling in the communal house yard, this year's Mid-Autumn Festival is also brought to the school yard, creating a warm and intimate space for students.
At Nguyen Phu Huong Secondary School (Hoa Tien Commune), the Commune Youth Union coordinated with the school to organize the program "Lanterns to light up dreams", attracting a large number of students to participate.
The highlight of the program was the gift giving activity for students in difficult circumstances. 80 gifts including cash, candy, and lanterns were handed to the children, carrying a message of sharing and encouragement.
Joy sparkles in the eyes and smiles of children when receiving gifts and joining in the bustling sound of festival drums, creating a warm and meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thinh, Secretary of the Hoa Tien Commune Youth Union, shared: “We want to bring students, especially those in difficult circumstances, a complete Mid-Autumn Festival. Through the program, the Commune Youth Union aims to educate students about traditional values, arouse the spirit of solidarity, love and aspiration to rise up.”
The program ended in laughter, in the shimmering light of lanterns shining throughout the school yard. Each gift, each lantern not only has material value but also contains the feelings, beliefs and companionship of the community towards the young generation.
From those meaningful Mid-Autumn Festivals, students' dreams will continue to be nurtured, so that they can be more confident in striving, maturing, and contributing to building their homeland and country to become increasingly prosperous.
