Accordingly, in recent times, the Ho Chi Minh road, through Lam Dong province, has had many cracks, fissures, and potholes on the road surface. The main reason is that the traffic volume on this route has increased sharply, with the density of heavy trucks increasing. In addition, due to months of continuous rain, repairs and handling of sunken and cracked areas cannot be carried out.
“If the weather is sunny and the conditions are right for handling cracks, potholes and patching them with hot asphalt concrete, we will immediately start. The goal is to ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles, while also avoiding the situation where the damaged, broken, cracked, or cracked areas become wider, especially on steep slopes and curved roads,” Mr. Nguyen Van Quy added.
Regarding the project to repair and overcome subsidence of Ho Chi Minh road (at Km1900+350 - Km1900+650, within the administrative boundary of Bac Gia Nghia ward, Lam Dong province), Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has just issued an official dispatch to remove difficulties and obstacles, ensuring the project is implemented on schedule as approved.
Accordingly, the Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee directed Duc Long BOT&BT Joint Stock Company (investor) to proactively work with the owner of Dak Nut B mine to complete procedures and use the land filled at this mine for the project.
At the same time, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and work with relevant units, investors, and local authorities to agree on the use of a temporary construction material storage site at residential group 14, Bac Gia Nghia ward as a material storage site for project construction.
Regarding 17 households located in the area affected by landslides at Km1900+350 - Km1900+650 of Ho Chi Minh road, the Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee directed the People's Committee of Bac Gia Nghia ward to work with relevant departments, branches and units and propose specific plans to ensure long-term stability for households. In case of necessary relocation, the report shall propose specific resettlement plans (resettlement locations; plan to handle the land after relocating 17 households; estimated budget for implementation...).
As reported by VNA reporters at the end of September 2025, Duc Long BOT&BT Joint Stock Company, the investor of the project to repair and overcome subsidence of Ho Chi Minh road (at Km1900+350 - Km1900+650), has submitted a report to Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee proposing to remove some difficulties and obstacles in the process of project implementation.
Accordingly, the investor and relevant agencies have not yet determined the dumping site nor have sufficient legal basis for coordinating and using the land for the project. These are two important problems, which, if not resolved soon, will greatly affect the progress of the project (expected to start construction in early 2026 and be completed by the end of the year).
Ho Chi Minh Road (section through Lam Dong province) is currently the main route connecting Quang Ngai, Gia Lai , Dak Lak, Lam Dong provinces with Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City. Nearly 2 years after the subsidence and landslide incident at Km1900+350 - Km1900+650, vehicles traveling on this route are regulated through 2/4 of the remaining lanes. This situation makes traffic inconvenient and prone to traffic accidents.
