According to the Can Tho City Inspectorate, regarding inspection work, based on the program orientation approved by the Prime Minister, instructions from the Government Inspectorate and state management requirements, the People's Committees of 3 provinces and cities: Can Tho, Soc Trang , Hau Giang, have directed the Inspectorate to advise on developing inspection plans and organizing implementation to ensure focus, key points, concentrating on places and areas of public interest, suitable to local realities.
In the first 6 months of 2025, the Inspection sector of all 3 provinces and cities has carried out 318 inspections and checks; of which, there were 60 administrative inspections and 258 specialized inspections and checks. Through inspections, violations of over 7.6 billion VND were discovered, and recommendations were made to recover over 3.1 billion VND; recommendations were made to handle other matters of over 4.5 billion VND; at the same time, recommendations were made to review and consider the responsibilities of 5 groups and 79 individuals, recommendations were made to transfer 2 cases to the investigation agency (of which 1 case was related to licensing to practice in the medical field, 1 case was related to finance and budget).
Regarding the implementation of Plan No. 96/KH-TTCP dated March 28, 2025 of the Government Inspector General on the inspection and settlement of complaints and denunciations that have been prolonged and escalated to the Central Government, the Standing Committee of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee (old) and the Can Tho City Party Committee (old) promptly established working groups to inspect, review and settle complaints and denunciations that have been prolonged and escalated to the Central Government. Through inspection and review, there were 6 cases in the locality that had to be implemented according to the direction (of which, 3 cases were under the local authority and 3 cases were under the central authority).
Regarding the above cases, according to the guidance of the Prime Minister's Working Group, the content of the complainant's request has been considered and resolved by the competent authority and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has notified the termination of the complaint settlement in accordance with regulations; during the process of settling complaints and denunciations, the local government has paid attention to mobilizing other resources to support the complainant and there are no new details compared to the settlement results of the competent authority's previous consideration and settlement. The complainant is requested to strictly comply with the State's policies and laws because the case has been properly and fully resolved in accordance with the law, to end the complaint, not to participate in cross-level complaints; at the same time, notify the complainant of the results of the inspection and review of the case and publicly inform the settlement results in accordance with regulations.
At the online conference to review the work of the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2025 of the Inspection sector, Mr. Vuong Quoc Nam, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, proposed: In order to ensure the harmony of interests of people and businesses in implementing investment projects in the locality and promptly resolve the situation of mass complaints causing insecurity and disorder in the area, ensuring fairness for people affected by implemented wind power projects, Can Tho City People's Committee proposed that the Government and the Prime Minister consider and issue a transitional resolution on compensation and support mechanisms and policies for land, houses, works... in the safety protection corridor of wind power projects for onshore wind power projects implemented before Decree No. 62/2025/ND-CP takes effect, to apply to Can Tho City in particular and localities with onshore wind power projects in general.
In order for the City Inspectorate to effectively perform its tasks after the merger, Mr. Vuong Quoc Nam said that the People's Committee of Can Tho City continues to direct the Inspectorate to urgently review the 2025 inspection plan of the three provinces and cities before the merger, report to the City People's Committee before adjusting; at the same time, carry out inspections according to the issued plan. Strengthen publicity and transparency in inspection activities, improve discipline, administrative discipline, and public ethics in inspection activities. Continue to effectively carry out the work of receiving citizens, handling petitions, resolving complaints and denunciations, especially the work of advising on the task of receiving citizens, resolving complaints and denunciations at the commune level; promptly, thoroughly, and in accordance with regulations, newly arising complaints and denunciations right at the grassroots level, not allowing them to develop into hot spots. Pay attention to monitoring complaints and denunciations that have been prolonged and have gone beyond the central level; For complaints that have been reviewed, inspected, and resolved, continue to mobilize and persuade complainants to comply with legal regulations. In case of non-compliance, violations will be considered and handled according to regulations.
