Dong Da Ward opens the 1st Sports Congress in 2025

HNP - On the morning of October 19, Dong Da ward solemnly held the opening ceremony of the first Ward Sports Congress in 2025. The Sports Congress was held to celebrate the success of the 18th Hanoi Party Congress, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Dong Da Ward People's Committee Nguyen Trong Hai affirmed that the 1st Congress of the Ward Sports and Physical Training Association is an important event, marking a strong development step of the mass sports and physical training movement, demonstrating the attention of the Party Committee, the government and the whole society to improving the health, stature and quality of life of the people. The Congress is also an opportunity to demonstrate the strength of the masses, encourage the spirit of physical training following the example of great Uncle Ho, contributing to the successful implementation of the political , economic, social and national defense - security tasks of the ward in 2025.

Implementing Plan No. 76/KH-UBND dated September 15, 2025, the Dong Da Ward Sports Congress was organized in accordance with the process, solemnly and economically. The opening ceremony was attended and paraded by more than 1,000 athletes from 20 delegations, representing agencies, units and schools in the ward. More than 300 outstanding athletes will compete in 10 events, for age groups from teenagers to the elderly.

The competitions will be held from October to December 2025, including: aerobics, table tennis, chess, badminton, mini football, basketball, chess, shuttlecock kicking, athletics, tug of war... This is an opportunity to discover and nurture excellent athletes, representing Dong Da ward to participate in the City-level Sports Congress in the coming time.

Vice Chairman of Dong Da Ward People's Committee Nguyen Trong Hai also expressed his belief that, with the spirit of "Staying healthy to build and protect the Fatherland", the athletes will compete honestly, nobly, and unitedly; the referees will work objectively and impartially; and the fans will cheer enthusiastically, contributing to the success of the Congress.
