In the past 8 months, although the work of preventing epidemics in the province has achieved many positive results, some infectious diseases such as measles, dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease have tended to increase. The most worrying is measles, with nearly 6,500 cases recorded, an increase of more than 6,400 cases compared to the same period in 2024. The coverage rate of some vaccines such as tuberculosis and newborn hepatitis B is not high.
Among diseases transmitted from animals to humans, rabies is the most worrying with 5 deaths recorded, many people were bitten by rabid dogs...
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Director of the Department of Health Luu Van Dung acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of CDC Dong Nai in the past 8 months. At the same time, he suggested that in the last months of the year, CDC Dong Nai focus on advising the Department of Health to guide private clinics in the province to strictly report dengue fever cases to promptly monitor and handle outbreaks; develop post-inspection plans for private clinics; organize training for communes after implementing the two-level local government model to improve the capacity to prevent and control epidemics in general and dengue fever in particular.
Regarding expanded immunization, CDC Dong Nai closely coordinates with local authorities and the education sector to collect statistics, organize catch-up vaccinations, and ensure vaccine coverage according to plan. In addition, it is necessary to urgently complete the project to soon start construction of the International Health Quarantine Headquarters at Long Thanh Airport...
