This is an activity to conserve, regenerate and develop aquatic resources in Thi Nai lagoon, contributing to enriching the biological population and biodiversity with many species of high economic value, serving the development of the local aquatic economy.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Nghia - Head of the Department of Fisheries said: Gia Lai has many potentials and advantages to develop fisheries. The province has a coastline of 134 km; 3 large brackish water lagoons including: Thi Nai, De Gi and Tra O, with an area of about 8,000 hectares.
However, climate change and overexploitation have been causing degradation and depletion of aquatic resources. Therefore, releasing fish fry into the natural environment is considered a practical solution to restore, regenerate and develop aquatic resources.

This activity also contributes to raising people's awareness of protecting aquatic resources; mobilizing fishermen not to use nets with mesh sizes smaller than prescribed and prohibited fishing means; thereby, protecting the environment, ecosystems, diversifying aquatic products, developing increasingly effective and sustainable fishing.
