The Star reported that earlier this month, Gombak district police (under the direction of the Commercial Crime Investigation Division) raided an apartment, arresting a 46-year-old Malaysian woman – identified as the mother-in-law of a national team player – and four Pakistani men (aged 39-47).
They were remanded in custody until October 8 at Rawang police station for investigation under Section 420 of the Malaysian Penal Code (cheating and forgery). Another Pakistani national was arrested earlier, leading to the raid.
The Strait Times added that the seized evidence included a series of fake official stamps from Pakistan, Indonesia, and Malaysia, along with printing equipment and fake documents.
These are used to create fake tourist passports, mainly for foreigners who overstay their visas – a popular "underground" service in Selangor.
Although the player's name has not been announced, press sources say this person is likely one of the seven naturalized Malaysian players recently banned by FIFA.

Naturalization scandal rocks Malaysian football. |
Police are checking whether this line provided services to FAM/JDT Club, especially since Johor state is a recruitment center for many foreign players to come here to play.
The woman - the mother-in-law of the Malaysian player - is said to be the leader, cooperating with her foreign husband (also arrested earlier), and the ring has been operating since the beginning of the year in Shah Alam.
In addition, another passport fraud ring has been under investigation since July. Four Malaysian border officers have also been detained on charges of corruption and abuse of power.
The officers, who also worked in Johor Bahru – the Malaysia-Singapore border crossing – were being investigated for allegedly accepting bribes to stamp passports without the passport holders being present.
Malaysian media believes that if these two lines of fake passports and documents are indeed related to football and FAM, this is not just a "technical error" but an organized crime network.
