According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the day and night of October 9, the area from South Quang Tri to Hue, the South Central Coast, the Central Highlands and the South will have rain, with some places experiencing very heavy rain. Many localities in the North still have the potential risk of landslides even when the rain has reduced or stopped.

Forecast, on the day and night of October 9, the area from South Quang Tri to Hue, the coastal areas of South Central and South Vietnam will have rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms with rainfall from 15-40mm, locally heavy to very heavy rain over 80mm.
On the afternoon and evening of October 9, the Central Highlands will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy rain with rainfall of 10-30mm, and some places experiencing heavy rain over 60mm. Warning of the risk of heavy rain over 60mm/3 hours.
Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain may cause flash floods in small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes, and inundation in low-lying areas.
Landslide warning
Recently, in the mountainous areas of the Northern provinces, there has been continuous heavy rain, the soil and rocks are saturated, and floods on rivers are still at high levels, so there is a high risk of landslides even when the rain has reduced or stopped.
Therefore, in the next 6 hours, there is a risk of landslides on slopes in many communes/wards of Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Bac Ninh. In Tuyen Quang alone, 92/124 communes/wards are under warning; Thai Nguyen has 58/92 communes/wards...
Landslides can have very negative impacts on the environment, threaten people's lives; cause local traffic congestion, affect the movement of vehicles; destroy civil and economic works, causing damage to production and socio-economic activities.
Thunderstorms and strong winds at sea
Currently, the Central and Southern East Sea area (including Truong Sa special zone), the sea area from Quang Ngai to Ca Mau, from Ca Mau to An Giang and the Gulf of Thailand are having showers and thunderstorms.
During the day and night of October 9, the Central and Southern East Sea (including Truong Sa special zone), the sea area from South Quang Tri to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to An Giang and the Gulf of Thailand will have showers and thunderstorms. During the thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind of level 6-7, and waves over 2m high. All vessels operating in the above areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.

Provinces from Thanh Hoa to Hue
- There is a clear differentiation of weather. In the North, there are clouds, showers and thunderstorms in some places; in the South (including Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue), there is rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain in some places. In thunderstorms, there is a potential risk of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

South Central Coast Region

In the Central Highlands
- Intermittent sunshine during the day, showers and scattered thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening, with heavy rain in some places.
- Lowest temperature commonly 19-22 degrees Celsius; highest 28-31 degrees Celsius.
Hanoi capital weather is mainly sunny during the day, no rain at night, light wind.
- The lowest temperature ranges from 23-25 degrees Celsius, the highest from 31-33 degrees Celsius.
Southern region and Ho Chi Minh City
- There will be rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain, concentrated in the afternoon and at night. West to Southwest wind level 2-3. During thunderstorms there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
- Lowest temperature from 23-26 degrees Celsius; highest from 29-32 degrees Celsius.
- In Ho Chi Minh City alone, the lowest temperature is from 23-25 degrees Celsius, the highest is 30-32 degrees Celsius.
