This project will help specifically implement the Law on Consumer Protection 2023 and Decree 55/2024/ND-CP of the Government , marking a new phase in domestic consumer protection work.

The content of the project clearly states that consumers are at the center of all policies, both beneficiaries and driving forces of development. Protecting consumer rights is not only a legal task, but also an important pillar in building a socialist-oriented market economy towards transparency, fairness and sustainable development. Therefore, activities to protect consumer rights will be implemented synchronously and uniformly from central to local levels, ensuring clear responsibilities and powers of each level and sector.
The general objective of the project is to improve the legal system, improve the effectiveness of consumer protection, clearly identify key subjects and appropriate solutions; raise social awareness and mobilize the participation of economic actors. In addition, the project focuses on training human resources, designing tools and applying information technology solutions so that consumers can protect their legitimate rights.

In addition, at least 5 documents and publications on consumer protection will be issued annually; 100% of the Department of Industry and Trade and Consumer Protection Associations will participate in training and dissemination of legal knowledge; at least 1 contest with more than 1 million participants will be organized; Vietnam Consumer Rights Day will be launched, community events, press columns and online communication activities on social platforms will be launched.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, the project will create a strong shift, improving the effectiveness of consumer protection in the context of digital transformation and international economic integration. Therefore, in addition to the above goals, the "Project on Developing Consumer Rights Protection Activities for the 2026 - 2030 period" also identifies 5 groups of key tasks and solutions including: Perfecting institutions, improving efficiency in digital transformation and green transformation, strengthening propaganda, education , ensuring law enforcement and expanding international cooperation.
The National Competition Commission is assigned to preside over and coordinate the entire Project, and closely coordinate with relevant units, ministries, branches and localities responsible for developing specific plans, ensuring that they are consistent with the actual situation in the locality. Along with that, the Vietnam Association for Consumer Protection and social organizations are encouraged to participate more deeply in the process of consulting, commenting and implementing the project's activities.
