After two successful seasons, the Vietnam Institute for Educational and Cultural Development in collaboration with the Department of Performing Arts (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) continues to launch the 2026 National Piano Talent Festival season with the theme Spreading emotions - Connecting passion .

The jury includes many famous artists and teachers at home and abroad such as:
People's Artist Trung Hieu - Director of Hanoi Drama Theater, Master Luong Duc Thang - Deputy Director of the Department of Performing Arts, Dr. Dao Trong Tuyen - Head of Piano Department, Vietnam National Academy of Music, Dr. Ha Mai Huong - Director of Hue Academy of Music, Dr. Dang Ngoc Giang Quan - lecturer of Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music and many international artists from Japan and Korea.

At the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan - Chairman of the Vietnam Institute for Education and Cultural Development, Head of the Organizing Committee emphasized: " The Piano Talent Festival is not only a music competition but also a journey to honor the passion and efforts of those who love art. We hope that the Festival will become a bridge between generations of young artists, spreading the humanistic values ​​of music - a borderless language that touches the hearts of every human being."

2026 marks an important turning point when the Festival receives official support from the Department of Performing Arts, contributing to enhancing its reputation and expertise. The age range of contestants is expanded from 5 to 25 years old, divided into 15 competition groups in three categories: Freestyle, Classic and Artist.

In particular, this year the Festival expands international cooperation, the best candidates will be selected to join the Vietnam Piano Talent team to participate in the final round of the PIARA International Piano Competition in Japan in July 2026. All candidates entering the national final round will receive the PIARA international certificate recognized by the Japan Appraisal Association.

The final round and award gala are scheduled to take place on March 28-29, 2026 at the Vietnam National Academy of Music Concert Hall (Hanoi). The PIARA International Final (Japan) will be held in July 2026.

The first Vietnamese to be a judge for the Piano category at the prestigious Tchaikovsky competition Associate Professor Dr. Ta Quang Dong is the first Vietnamese to be invited to be a judge for the Piano category at the PI Tchaikovsky competition in Russia, 65 years after the event began in 1958.
