Recently, coastal fishermen often encounter anchovies in areas 2-3 nautical miles from shore. This is a type of seafood with nutritional value, can be dried and is therefore popular with consumers.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hong (Tan Hai village, Thien Cam commune) said: "It's the beginning of the season, so white anchovies are bought by traders at high prices, from 30,000 VND/kg - 40,000 VND/kg. Our boat sets sail from 4 - 5 am, because the fishing grounds are close to shore, so after a short time at sea, if we encounter the right fish flow, the boat can dock at 9 am. If we encounter the right fish flow, on average, each trip, my boat catches 4 - 5 quintals of anchovies, earning tens of millions of VND."

After being caught, the fishermen put the anchovies in sealed styrofoam boxes and bring them ashore by basket boats to traders.

Ms. Hoang Thi Lich - Director of Cua Nhuong Seafood Cooperative in Thien Cam commune said: "We buy tons of anchovies for people. In addition to selling to traders to transport to the market to sell to people, the remaining fish are dried on the spot by the cooperative in the sunny weather to have the best batches of dried anchovies. Currently, dried anchovies from our sea are also sold at very high prices, from 250,000 to 300,000 VND/kg."

After the storm, when the sea is calm, a light fog appears in the early morning - a sign that the sea is full of shrimp and fish, fishermen in coastal communes such as Cam Trung, Tien Dien, Dan Hai, Loc Ha ... are busy going out to sea again. Heavy nets bring back many valuable seafood such as squid, crab, silver pomfret ..., helping fishermen earn millions of dong every day.

According to fishermen, the silver pomfret season in the province's waters usually takes place from August to October of the lunar calendar with good yields. To catch them, fishermen usually have to go out to sea at 3 a.m. and drop their nets when they are about 10-12 nautical miles from shore.

Silver pomfret is being sold at prices ranging from 40,000 - 60,000 VND/kg and there are traders buying right on the spot, so people have more motivation to produce.

In particular, at this time, fishermen in Cam Trung and Thien Cam communes are very excited when crab output has increased 2-3 times. This is a "popular" seafood so its economic value is very high, each boat can earn tens of millions of dong after a few days of fishing.

Mr. Le Khac Tinh (Vinh Loc village, Cam Trung commune) happily said: "According to experience, after a storm, the disturbed water currents often catch a lot of seafood. In the past few days, the sea has been calm, and boats have been sailing smoothly. Every few days at sea, I usually catch 5-600kg of green crabs and about 100kg of 3-eyed crabs, earning from 10-15 million VND."

In addition, many fishermen also exploit fresh squid, snails, etc., providing an abundant source of seafood to the market.

According to information from the Ha Tinh Fisheries Department, after a long period of boats being stranded due to the impact of storms and rains, in recent days, fishermen in coastal localities of the province have taken advantage of favorable weather to actively go out to sea. Seafood exploitation activities have become bustling again, fishing output has increased, many boats have exploited valuable seafood such as squid, crab, silver pomfret, etc.
