Joining the delegation were representatives from the National Tourism Administration, the People's Committee of Quang Binh province, and the Departments of Culture and Tourism of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, along with leaders of the Vietnam Cinema Association and representatives of tourism and cinema businesses. On the Los Angeles side, Deputy Mayor in charge of Foreign Affairs Ms. Erin Bromagim and important officials welcomed the Vietnamese delegation.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism works with the Los Angeles city government on cooperation and tourism and cinema development.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister Ho An Phong expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from the city of Los Angeles and congratulated Los Angeles on being the host country of the 2028 Olympics. Mr. Phong affirmed that the strategic partnership between Vietnam and the United States, established in 2023, has created an important foundation for the development of cooperation in many fields, including tourism and cinema.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that Los Angeles is not only a famous tourist destination but also the center of the world's film and entertainment industry. Vietnam wishes to promote cooperation, especially in connecting direct flights between Los Angeles and major cities in Vietnam, creating favorable conditions for tourism and film development.
Mr. Ho An Phong also asked Los Angeles to support Vietnam in participating in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, especially supporting Ho Chi Minh City in building a dossier in the field of cinema, expected to be submitted in 2025.
On the Los Angeles side, Mr. Daniel Rodman, Head of the International Events Department, affirmed that the visit of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism delegation is an important opportunity to promote cooperation between the two sides. The city is also considering opening a direct flight to Vietnam and considers this a great opportunity ahead of the 2028 Olympics.

Deputy Minister Ho An Phong also said that in 2025, Vietnam plans to welcome Hollywood studios to survey filming locations and promote cooperation in the film industry. He invited Los Angeles city leaders to visit and work in Vietnam in the future.
The meeting marked an important step forward in cultural, tourism and film cooperation between Vietnam and the United States.
