Right after Celine Dion announced the cancellation of all remaining shows until 2024 due to health reasons a few days ago, social networks spread many scary images of the singer and claimed that she was almost unable to perform again due to serious illness.
Along with that, a social media account posted a video of a woman in a wheelchair arriving at her son's wedding and claimed that it was Celine Dion, causing panic among many of the singer's fans.
A TikTok account posted a photo of a woman in a wheelchair and claimed it was Celine Dion.
In the clip, which was obscured by large text, the image of a woman having to be lifted out of a wheelchair by her son to dance at his wedding led many social media accounts to suspect that it was Celine Dion.
"This is Celine Dion attending her son's wedding in a wheelchair. She has a rare disease called 'stiff body'. Oh, beautiful Celine Dion with a wonderful voice," one person wrote when sharing the video.
Celine Dion also has the rare disease but is not the one in the viral video.
However, Reuters recently confirmed that the person in the video is not Celine Dion. It is a woman from Florida named Kathy Poirier who has a rare muscle atrophy that requires her son's help to stand up from a wheelchair. The behind-the-scenes video clip was posted by a wedding planner.
