Industry and Trade performance in the first quarter, some key tasks and solutions in the second quarter of 2024.

Industrial production: The industrial production value (at 2010 comparable prices) in the first quarter of 2024 is estimated at VND 599.9 billion, equal to 7.6% of the annual plan, down 16.1% over the same period last year, of which: State-owned industry is estimated at VND 244.1 billion, down 46.1% over the same period in 2023, reaching 7.1% of the annual plan; Non-state-owned industry is estimated at VND 355.8 billion, up 36.1% over the same period in 2023, reaching 8.1% of the annual plan.

Some main production products: Electricity production 536.2 million kWh, reaching 7.2% of the yearly plan, down 24.3% over the same period last year; construction stone 124,803m 3 , reaching 17.7% of the yearly plan, equal to the same period last year; tea of ​​all kinds 840 tons, reaching 7.4% of the yearly plan, up 7.3% over the same period last year; construction bricks 15,441 thousand pieces, reaching 20.1% of the yearly plan, up 0.8% over the same period last year; tap water production 1,475 thousand m 3 , reaching 26.5% of the yearly plan, up 14.1% over the same period last year; cement 37,600 tons, reaching 35.5% of the yearly plan, up 20.9 times over the same period last year.

The number of communes, wards and towns with national grid electricity is 106/106 communes, reaching 100%. The number of households using national grid electricity is 103,369/107,092 households, reaching 96.5%. The number of villages using national grid electricity is 940/958 villages, reaching 98%.

Commercial activities : Total retail sales of goods and service revenue in the first quarter of 2024 is estimated at VND 2,269.4 billion, equal to 24.8% of the yearly plan, up 2.4% over the same period last year . Of which: Retail sales of goods reached VND 1,924.9 billion, equal to 24.7% of the yearly plan, up 3% over the same period last year; revenue from accommodation and catering services reached VND 160.4 billion, equal to 24.4% of the yearly plan, down 7.9% over the same period last year; revenue from travel and tourism support activities reached VND 1.1 billion, reaching 21.3% of the yearly plan, down 1.8% over the same period last year; revenue from other services reached VND 183 billion, equal to 26.1% of the yearly plan, up 6.6% over the same period last year.

Some main commodity groups supplied to the provincial market in the first quarter of 2024: Food and foodstuffs 674 billion VND; garments 127 billion VND; household appliances and utensils 227.2 billion VND; wood and construction materials 155.8 billion VND; means of transport 77.2 billion VND; petroleum of all kinds 317.7 billion VND; accommodation and catering services 160.4 billion VND; other goods and services 530.3 billion VND.

Import-export activities: The total import-export turnover of goods in the province in the first quarter of 2024 is estimated at 6.99 million USD, equal to 17.2% of the yearly plan, down 22.7% over the same period last year. The value of exported goods reached 3.02 million USD, equal to 16.8% of the yearly plan, down 22.9% over the same period last year, of which the value of local goods exports reached 1.21 million USD, equal to 13% of the yearly plan, up 0.8% over the same period last year. The main export items of the locality include: 414.3 tons of tea, worth 0.86 million USD; other goods (corn, fresh sugarcane, and bark of the Litsea tree) 1,698 tons, worth 0.35 million USD. The value of imported goods reached 3.97 million USD, equal to 17.5% of the yearly plan, down 22.6% compared to the same period last year. The main imported goods of the locality include: 1 lot of mineral exploitation equipment, worth 0.179 million USD; 6 lots of hydroelectric equipment, worth 3.79 million USD; other goods (fresh cabbage, Chinese cabbage, etc.) worth 0.003 million USD.

Promotion activities : Develop a detailed plan and implement the content of "Propaganda and mobilization of households to participate in the movement of households using energy economically and efficiently"; conduct surveys, collect information, contact interviews and broadcast reports (No. 1). Develop a plan and implement the project " Training conference to improve management capacity, awareness and capacity to apply cleaner production in industry"; the project "Support for building and registering trademark protection for industrial and handicraft products" and other local promotion projects approved by competent authorities. Develop a plan to conduct a survey (phase I) of rural industrial establishments in the province to grasp the development situation of industrial and handicraft production in the locality and advise industrial and handicraft establishments to develop a national and local industrial promotion project in 2025 and supplement the national industrial promotion plan in 2024.

In the second quarter of 2024, the Department of Industry and Trade will coordinate with departments, branches, and People's Committees of districts and cities to advise on the effective implementation of the following main tasks:

- Continue to implement Plan No. 287/KH-UBND and Plan No. 288/KH-UBND dated January 19, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing Resolution No. 01/NQ-CP, Resolution No. 02/NQ-CP dated January 5, 2024 of the Government on key tasks and solutions to implement the socio -economic development plan, state budget estimates and improve the business environment, enhance national competitiveness in 2024 to complete the targets set by the Industry and Trade sector.

- Advise the Provincial People's Committee to establish a Council for inspecting the safety of dams and hydroelectric reservoirs in the province.

- Strengthen state management of industry to grasp the production situation of establishments in the industrial and handicraft sectors; proactively advise and propose solutions to remove difficulties and problems in order to maintain stable industrial production activities to ensure good implementation of industrial targets in 2024.

- Actively coordinate with relevant Departments, branches, People's Committees of districts and cities to monitor and grasp the situation of the commodity market in the province to promptly deploy solutions to ensure the balance of supply and demand of essential goods to meet the production and consumption needs of the people in the province, especially during the rainy season. Coordinate with the Market Management Department, People's Committees of districts and cities and relevant agencies to inspect and supervise the implementation of regulations on petroleum trading of petroleum businesses in the province such as: Listing and selling at the correct listed price, quality of petroleum, and time of sale.

- Organize activities in response to Vietnam Brand Day on April 20. Direct and guide the Economic and Infrastructure Departments of districts, the City Economic Department, and food production and trading enterprises under the management of the Industry and Trade sector to implement the Action Month for Food Safety in 2024.

- Continue to coordinate with relevant departments, branches, sectors, People's Committees of districts and cities to implement trade promotion and e-commerce activities, focusing on connecting businesses, cooperatives, households producing and trading agricultural, forestry, fishery products and OCOP products in the province to participate in trade promotion activities and e-commerce platforms.

- Continue to implement local industrial promotion projects in 2024. Organize surveys and select locations to organize propaganda sessions to mobilize households to participate in the movement "Households use energy economically and efficiently" . /.
