With the theme: “Promoting the thousand-year-old tradition of civilization and heroism; uniting to build a clean and strong Party organization; pioneering and making breakthroughs in the new era; developing a civilized, modern and happy Capital”, the 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee had 550 outstanding delegates representing nearly 500,000 Party members of 136 Party organizations under the Hanoi Party Committee attending. This is an important political event, taking place in a context of great significance for the development of the Capital and the whole country.

In her opening speech at the Congress, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai affirmed that Hanoi is facing intertwined opportunities, advantages, difficulties and challenges, requiring the Party Committee, government and people of the capital to be highly determined and make great efforts to successfully implement the set development goals.

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development", seizing opportunities, overcoming challenges, determined to build a "Cultured - Civilized - Modern" Capital, the Congress has the following tasks: Summarizing the implementation of the Resolution of the City Party Congress for the 2020 - 2025 term, determining the directions, goals, tasks and solutions for the 2025 - 2030 term; discussing and contributing opinions to the draft documents of the 14th Party Congress; electing the 18th City Party Executive Committee for the 2025-2030 term; electing the City Party Delegation to attend the 14th Party Congress.
