Tottenham spent money to successfully recruit Kudus

Tottenham have agreed a £55m deal to sign Mohamed Kudus from West Ham.

After the two London rivals agreed on a fee, Kudus will have a medical at his new club today (July 10).

It is expected that the Ghanaian striker will sign a 6-year contract with the Tottenham Hotspur team.

The successful deal is important for new manager Thomas Frank, as he sees signing a winger as a top priority for Spurs.

Tottenham initially wanted to sign Mbeumo, but they ended up going with Kudus because the Cameroonian wanted to join Manchester United.

The Spurs' initial offer of £50m was rejected by West Ham. Only after raising the fee to £55m did the Hammers agree to release Kudus.

The sale of Mohamed Kudus will boost West Ham's transfer activity. They need to raise funds due to PSR restrictions.

Manager Graham Potter is looking to overhaul the squad but the club need to sell players before bringing in new ones.
