On October 16, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that in recent years, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, many new issues have arisen in the management of medical practice in the city.

Specifically, the number of medical and pharmaceutical establishments is increasing, currently the city has more than 20,000 medical and pharmaceutical establishments (more than 9,000 medical establishments and nearly 11,000 pharmaceutical establishments), of which more than 99% are private establishments.

Some beauty establishments (licensed by the District People's Committee or the Department of Planning and Investment) "encroach" into the medical field (licensed by the Department of Health).

In addition, there is the problem of practitioners exceeding the scope of expertise allowed in the practice certificate (now the practice license).

In addition, there is a situation where practice establishments provide technical services beyond the licensed technical list without registering practitioners.

Not to mention illegal and false advertising and the violating facilities being administratively punished for constantly changing the facility name, address and medical incidents from cosmetic facilities.

Recently, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health inspectors have continuously inspected and punished many medical examination and treatment facilities that practice illegally or practitioners who do not register to practice according to regulations, practice beyond the scope of expertise...

From these realities, the Department of Health has converted paper data to digital data, launched the "Practice Information Lookup Portal" and successfully tested it.

Launching a healthcare financial management tool for hospitals

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that in the context of public hospitals facing many challenges in financial management, the department has ordered banks to start building a tool to warn of hospital financial situations called the HFS system.
