Ho Chi Minh City and many localities plan to merge universities and colleges.

More than 30 universities, colleges and many secondary schools in Ho Chi Minh City, Ca Mau, Phu Tho, Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa and Ninh Binh are proposing plans to reorganize and merge, aiming to streamline the public school network according to the Government's direction.

In Ho Chi Minh City , according to Chinhphu.vn, the draft plan to arrange public service units in the city proposes merging and reorganizing more than 30 universities, colleges, and intermediate schools; only Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine and Thu Dau Mot University will remain the same.

Saigon University received Ba Ria - Vung Tau Pedagogical College. The unit in charge of the merger is Saigon University, because the main training field is pedagogy.

For about 30 colleges and intermediate schools, it is expected to be rearranged, leaving 19 schools.

Ho Chi Minh City plans not to reorganize the following schools: Vietnam - Singapore College; Vietnam - Korea Binh Duong College; Ba Ria - Vung Tau College of Technology; Thu Duc College of Technology; Ho Chi Minh City College of Architecture and Construction.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City plans to establish two new colleges: Ho Chi Minh City College of High-Tech Agriculture on the basis of merging the City Agricultural Technical College, the Agriculture and Forestry College and the Center for High-Tech Agricultural Vocational Education.

In Ca Mau , the province proposed a plan to maintain the status quo of Bac Lieu University. Merge Ca Mau Medical College and Bac Lieu Medical College into Ca Mau Medical College.

Merge Vietnam - Korea Vocational College Ca Mau and Bac Lieu Vocational College into Vietnam - Korea Vocational College Ca Mau.

Merge Ca Mau Community College and Bac Lieu College of Economics and Technology into Ca Mau College.

In Ha Tinh , the province proposed to continue to propose implementing the process to merge Ha Tinh University into a member university of Hanoi National University or to carry out the merger according to the new direction of the Ministry of Education and Training.

For 8 vocational education - continuing education centers and 5 vocational schools, Ha Tinh province proposed to keep them unchanged.

In Thanh Hoa , the Department of Education and Training proposed merging the University of Culture, Sports and Tourism into Hong Duc University, in order to increase attractiveness to learners and international cooperation, focusing investment resources to increase the scale and quality of training.

For 23 vocational education - continuing education centers and one general technical - continuing education center, the department proposed merging and converting them into 14 vocational high schools.

It is expected that Bim Son Vocational College and Thanh Hoa Industrial Vocational College will be merged into Thanh Hoa Industrial College.

The other four schools merged were Thanh Hoa Industrial College, Nghi Son Vocational College, Bim Son Vocational Secondary School and Thanh Hoa Technical School.

In Phu Tho , the Department of Education and Training proposed merging Hoa Binh Pedagogical College and the pedagogical field of Vinh Phuc College into Hung Vuong University.

Merge Hoa Binh Medical College into Phu Tho Medical College; arrange Vinh Phuc College in the direction of transferring the medical field to Phu Tho Medical College; merge Vinh Phuc College including the remaining departments into Vinh Phuc Technical College.

In Ninh Binh , the province proposed merging Ha Nam Medical College, Nam Dinh Medical College and Ninh Binh Medical College into Ninh Binh Medical College under the Provincial People's Committee.

Proposal to merge Nam Dinh College of Culture and Tourism, Nam Dinh Pedagogical College and Ninh Binh College of Economics - Technology and Tourism into Hoa Lu University. The merger is expected to organize multi-level training (university, college, intermediate) and establish regional branches to meet the needs of studying and training local human resources.

At the same time, it is proposed to maintain Nam Dinh Vocational College No. 1 and Nam Dinh College of Economics and Technology.
