The Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just announced its direction to the Department of Construction to study the simplification of construction permit procedures and exemption of construction permits for individual houses in the area.

Accordingly, the Department of Construction will support and guide the People's Committees of wards, communes and special zones to only receive and process construction permit applications in the electronic environment, connecting the network system with the Department of Construction to serve the inspection and supervision process. The Department will also issue a handbook on the components of the application, the process of receiving and processing construction permits for individual houses, to implement uniformly throughout the city.

Previously, the Department advised the City People's Committee to report and recommend to the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Construction to allow a pilot exemption of construction permits for individual houses under 7 floors, located in areas with detailed planning 1/500 or urban design approved by competent State agencies.
