Domestic pepper prices remain stable
Pepper prices today, October 19, 2025, in some key growing areas decreased sporadically by 1,000 VND/kg in some places, thereby bringing the domestic pepper price level to 144,000 - 146,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands region, pepper price today in Dak Lak province decreased slightly by 1,000 VND/kg, currently at 146,000 VND/kg.
Pepper price today in Gia Lai province remains unchanged at 144,000 VND/kg.
Pepper price today in Lam Dong province decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, at 146,000 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, pepper prices in Ho Chi Minh City today remain unchanged, currently at 145,000 VND/kg.
Pepper price today in Dong Nai province remains unchanged, currently at 145,000/kg.

After a sharp increase in early October, domestic pepper prices have begun to slow down. Compared to the beginning of the week, pepper prices in many key regions have decreased by 1,000 to 2,000 VND/kg.
Traders said that domestic supply is gradually returning to the market, causing pepper prices to show signs of cooling down. However, the decrease is not too deep, showing that demand remains stable.
According to analysts, next week (from October 21), pepper prices will likely fluctuate around 143,000 - 147,000 VND/kg. There is no strong enough breakthrough in the market to push pepper prices up again.
Although pepper prices are on a short-term downward trend, many experts still assess the medium-term outlook as quite optimistic. The reason is that the amount of inventory among people is not much, while import demand from major markets such as the US, India and China is expected to increase sharply by the end of the year.
World pepper prices and influencing factors
In the world market, based on quotes from exporting enterprises and export prices in countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) updated the latest pepper prices as of October 19, 2025 as follows:
Indonesia’s Lampung black pepper prices remained unchanged at $7,228 per tonne. Similarly, Muntok white pepper prices remained unchanged at $10,085 per tonne.
Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price remained unchanged at USD 6,100/mt.
Malaysia’s ASTA black pepper price remained unchanged at $9,500 per tonne. Meanwhile, the country’s ASTA white pepper price also remained unchanged at $12,500 per tonne.
Prices of all types of Vietnamese pepper remain unchanged, of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l remains unchanged at 6,400 USD/ton; the price of 550 gr/l remains unchanged at 6,600 USD/ton.
Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged at USD 9,050/ton.
In the international market, the price of 500g/l Vietnamese pepper has decreased by 200 USD/ton this week. Many experts believe that the export price of pepper is temporarily stagnating due to the decrease in import demand from regions such as Europe and the Middle East after a period of strong buying in the third quarter. However, the current pepper price is still considered the highest in many years.
While in the past, most of Vietnam’s pepper was exported raw and depended on international pepper prices, now the product structure has changed significantly. The proportion of white pepper, ground pepper, organic pepper and packaged pepper is increasing rapidly.
These deeply processed products have a price 20-40% higher than raw black pepper, and can even double if they meet organic standards or international sustainability certification. As a result, the average export value of the Vietnamese pepper industry has been significantly increased, helping businesses and pepper growers benefit more.
With increasingly systematic investment, Vietnam pepper prices are expected to remain stable and maintain a high position in the region. Focusing on deep processing, expanding the market and developing organic standards will not only help increase pepper prices but also ensure sustainability for the entire industry.
