Launching the 4th tourist route to Cao Bang Geopark.

The "A Time of Fire and Flowers" experience route is the 4th tourist route, contributing significantly to environmental protection and rational use of natural resources of Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark.

On July 9, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Cao Bang province held a ceremony to announce the "A time of fire and flowers" experience route in the Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark and celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Tourism Industry (July 9, 1960 - July 9, 2023).

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Trinh Truong Huy emphasized: In 2015, when laying the foundation for the construction and development of Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark, the Provincial People's Committee identified this as a new socio-economic development model, suitable to the province's reality.

Building the Cao Bang tourism brand associated with the UNESCO Global Geopark will contribute to preserving and promoting the overall heritage values, changing the mindset and awareness of tourism; and promoting economic sectors to participate in exploiting tourism and services.

The 4th geopark tourist route is expected to make an important contribution to environmental protection, rational use of natural resources, conservation and maximization of landscape, geological, cultural and indigenous knowledge values associated with sustainable tourism development of the locality, creating a strong transformation in quality and quantity in tourism exploitation and development activities.

To effectively exploit the "A Time of Fire and Flowers" tourist route, the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Cao Bang province requested relevant localities to receive and hand over the system of facilities and signs, and take responsibility for protecting, maintaining and repairing the system of facilities.

The relevant authorities continue to coordinate with UNESCO experts to research and implement activities to develop experiential routes; implement sustainable socio-economic development programs, bringing benefits to local people.

At the same time, relevant parties promote communication and promotion of the "A Time of Fire and Flowers" experience route in particular and the UNESCO Global Geopark Non Nuoc Cao Bang in general.

Mr. Vi Tran Thuy, Deputy Director of the Management Board of Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark, said the fourth experiential route extends through Cao Bang city, Quang Hoa district and Thach An district.

The name "A time of fire and flowers" affirms the unique geological values. Through intense geological activities here, a unique and distinctive landscape has been created.

Red lava flows rose from the earth and spread across the ocean floor... hundreds of millions of years ago.

The name “A time of fire and flowers” is also associated with the legend of Route 4; the heroic sacrifice of generations of fathers and brothers in the resistance war against the French colonialists; especially on the experience route there is Bao Dong mountain peak - the place marking the first and only event where Uncle Ho directly went to the front to direct and motivate the army and people to fight.
