Within the framework of the 11th International Conference of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network (GGN) taking place in the Republic of Chile from September 5 to 15, Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark (GGN) was honored to receive the Award "Effective Operational Model of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network".
This is one of five parks in the world to receive this prestigious award.
The 11th GGN Conference gathered about 1,000 delegates, including representatives of UNESCO global geoparks, potential geoparks, scientists , politicians and managers.
This is a forum to exchange experiences and share effective models in building and developing geoparks according to UNESCO criteria, while affirming the role of GGN in preserving and promoting heritage values associated with sustainable development.

At the conference, Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark participated in presenting two papers: "Preserving traditional craft villages associated with sustainable tourism development" and "Preserving ethnic minority languages in Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark", attracting the attention of many international delegates.
In addition, the park also introduces cultural space with geological, cultural, historical heritages, natural landscapes, tourist routes and traditional handicraft products, contributing to spreading the image of Cao Bang with rich identity and opening up opportunities for cooperation and exchange of experience in managing and operating the Geopark according to international models.
Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark covers an area of over 3,000km², accounting for nearly half of the province's total area, and is a living testament to a geological history spanning over 500 million years. This place is not only notable for its fossils, marine sediments, volcanic rocks, and majestic landscapes, but is also rich in cultural and historical values.
This is the early residence of prehistoric people, the cradle of revolution in the resistance war against France, and the home of 8 ethnic groups with a rich treasure of tangible and intangible heritage. On April 12, 2018, UNESCO officially recognized Non Nuoc Cao Bang as a Global Geopark.

Over the years, Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark has become an attractive destination, contributing to promoting the image of Vietnam and its people to the world.
This award not only affirms the position and prestige of Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark in the UNESCO global network but also recognizes the persistent efforts of Cao Bang province in preserving and promoting heritage values associated with sustainable tourism development.
This achievement also creates motivation for the locality to continue to combine conservation work with socio-economic development, making Cao Bang a prominent destination on the international tourism map.
