According to SF, the Russian army destroyed a Ukrainian command post and a long-range surveillance radar near the Kozilovka settlement in the Chernihiv region. Photos of the attack have been made public.
The command post and radar – a Ukrainian-built upgraded Soviet-made 36D6M – was spotted by a reconnaissance drone and was quickly hit by Russian missiles.
The first attack destroyed the radar and some of the vehicles. This was followed by cluster missiles fired from Russian Tornado-S multiple launchers and the second attack destroyed what remained.
The 36D6M is an air surveillance radar with a range of over 350 km. The radar can operate as part of the Soviet-made S-300 long-range air defense system. Ukraine claims that it has upgraded the radar to be able to operate with other modern air defense systems.
In recent months, the Russian military has intensified its suppression of Ukrainian air defenses, damaging or destroying numerous Ukrainian radars and air defense systems. Ukrainian losses include NASAMS and MIM-104 Patriot systems.
Iskander tactical ballistic missiles and Tornado-S launchers are used in most of the suppression of enemy air defenses. Ground-based systems allow for faster reaction times.
A few hours ago, AVP also reported that the Russian army shot down a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter.
According to AVP, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the active actions of the Russian military and air defense systems against the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Over the past 8 hours, a Mi-143 helicopter and 22 drones of the Ukrainian army were destroyed. Three Uragan missiles and one HIMARS missile were also successfully shot down by Russia.
In addition to air defense, on the front, the Russian army is stepping up attacks on many fronts. The fact that Mirnoye in the Zaporozhye direction is completely controlled by Russia has put great pressure on the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Meanwhile, in the Avdeevsky direction, many military movements have been recorded. It is expected that fierce fighting may begin in the coming time to gain control of Chasy Yar, where the Ukrainian army is said to be gathering forces for an attack.
