Episode 3 of the program “Conquering Passion” season 2 has aired with the guidance of MC Nguyen Anh Tu. The judges are veteran artists who played the role of “holding the scales of justice” in the first season: People’s Artist Kim Xuan, Meritorious Artist Cong Ninh, Artist Trung Dan and Meritorious Artist Duc Thinh.
Contestant Tran Thao Nguyen's skit "Fate of a Child" is set in a peaceful countryside. Thao Nguyen plays Lanh, a simple young girl who longs to go to school but has to take care of her elderly father. The climax is when Lanh's mother wants to marry her off to an old husband to have money to treat her father's illness, and Lanh bursts into tears and agrees. Meritorious Artist Cong Ninh highly appreciates Thao Nguyen's acting ability. People's Artist Kim Xuan praised her good stage voice and ability to respond, but the female judge also frankly said that this script is quite old and predictable. People's Artist Kim Xuan expressed her wish that the contestant bring a script with a more "modern breath". MC Nguyen Anh Tu humorously commented that Thao Nguyen might be deliberately choosing a "safe" script to hide her profession.
The third contestant this week is Phan Hai Ly with the skit “At the end of the road”. In the skit, Hai Ly plays the role of An Ly – a young actress with a strong passion for art. Despite her injured legs, An Ly still tries to act, causing an accident that seriously injures her legs. However, she still tries to stand up, her desire to become a talented actress still burning.
Artist Trung Dan must feel the character's psychology when playing the role. With the role of an injured actress who can hardly continue her career, her psychology must be shocked, almost physically exhausted,... "Even though we know it's fake, we still have to have emotions to act. We have to create confidence in ourselves when performing to make the audience believe. If we don't have emotions when performing, people may praise us in front of us, but behind our backs, they may not praise us. And the most difficult and impartial judge is the audience," the veteran artist shared.
