From August 15, trucks will be banned from lane 1 and speed will be adjusted on the Hanoi - Ninh Binh highway.

From tomorrow (August 15), the Vietnam Road Administration will conduct a pilot program to ban trucks from lane 1 on the Hanoi - Ninh Binh highway for 1 month, and the minimum speed will also be adjusted to increase.

According to the Vietnam Road Administration, currently on the Hanoi - Ninh Binh Expressway, all lanes have a minimum speed of 60km/h and a maximum of 100km/h, trucks are allowed to run on all 3 lanes. From August 15, lane 1 of the Hanoi - Ninh Binh Expressway will pilot a minimum speed of 80km/h (an increase of 20km/h compared to before), and a maximum of 100km/h. Lane 1 will prohibit regular trucks (except single-cabin pickup trucks, double-cabin pickup trucks - pickup trucks, van trucks); specialized trucks (except cash transport trucks); specialized vehicles; tractors; trailer trucks.

The pilot plan also proposes applying a minimum speed of 70km/h (10km/h more than before) to lane 2 of the Hanoi - Ninh Binh expressway and a maximum of 100km/h.

In addition to banning trucks from lane 1, the Vietnam Road Administration also requires that 10 days before the end of the pilot traffic organization period, the investor of the Hanoi - Ninh Binh expressway must complete a traffic organization plan that prohibits passenger cars from operating in lane 1, to replace the pilot traffic organization plan that has been implemented since August 15.

The traffic organization pilot is divided into 2 phases. Phase 1 will organize speed lanes and vehicle flow for trucks; Phase 2 will organize speed lanes and vehicle flow for trucks and passenger cars.

The above pilot work was also deployed by the Vietnam Road Administration on the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway.
