From startup movement to promoting products for members

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - With hundreds of products displayed and introduced at the final round of the "Startup Ideas and Products" contest organized by the Provincial Women's Union in April 2025, it shows the boldness, creativity and dynamism of women in the province in realizing startup ideas and starting businesses more and more effectively.

Many products produced and processed by women are displayed and introduced at conferences and events...

At the startup product display booth of Ms. Hoang Thi Minh Nga in Dong Thanh residential group, Luu Ve commune, traditional cakes such as leaf cakes, tapioca cakes, sticky rice cakes, and racquet cakes are displayed... These products are consumed by her family in many provinces and cities. In 2024, Ms. Nga participated in the "Creative Women's Ideas - Startups" contest with the product "Nga My Racquet Cakes" and won an excellent prize. In 2025, she continued to compete for the second time with the product "Gotu Kola Rice Cakes" and won a promising prize. Through the competitions, the cake products of Nga My 36 Cake Production Service Cooperative provided by her family are known to more people. Every month, the Cooperative sells from 30,000 to 40,000 cakes of all kinds.

As a locality with potential for developing medicinal plants, Ms. Quach Thi Anh in Son Minh village, Luan Thanh commune has researched and extracted medicinal plants into medicinal health care products. She boldly established the Huong Que Cooperative, specializing in processing medicinal plants into shampoo products, lemongrass oil, shower gel, foot bath water, etc. The cooperative creates jobs for many workers and contributes to promoting the development of medicinal plants in the locality.

Ms. Anh shared: “Participating in product displays at competitions and events organized by the Provincial Women's Union and some local product introduction conferences has helped me gain new knowledge on how to introduce and promote products as well as grasp customer needs to make improvements in production and trade. In addition to displaying, introducing and selling products, I also invite visitors to try the products on the spot and have received comments on product labels and packaging.”

With the desire to support women to start a successful business, the Provincial Women's Union has increased communication and product promotion for women on mass media. Through participating in booth display at competitions, women's creative start-up days, forums, and provincial-level exchanges, the Provincial Women's Union has integrated product introduction and promotion for members, helping women meet, exchange, share experiences in production, business, market research, and learn how to promote products on online channels. Thereby, arousing the entrepreneurial spirit of local women starting businesses from available advantageous products. In particular, many women have promoted the application of digital technology in promoting and introducing their products on popular sales applications in Vietnam such as Shopee, TikTok, Facebook, Zalo, etc.

Along with media support, the Provincial Women's Union focuses on exploiting credit sources to support women in starting a business and developing the economy . Especially implementing the Prime Minister's Project "Supporting women in starting a business in the period of 2017-2025". Thereby, many female members in the province have had more conditions to receive support in terms of capital, technology, knowledge, breeds, materials, making labels... to develop the economy, turning difficulties and challenges into opportunities, becoming typical examples, spreading the spirit of starting a business to the community. Many members and women have become owners of production and business establishments, enriching their families, creating jobs for many workers. Typical examples include: Ms. Tran Thi Mai in Tien Huong village, Van Du commune, who has successfully developed the 36 Sinh Mai smoked buffalo meat product produced in a chain from farm to table; Ms. Ha Thi Kieu, rattan and bamboo weaving cooperative in Lau village, Dien Lu commune; Quach Thi Anh, Huong Que cooperative group, Luan Thanh commune...

According to the report of the Provincial Women's Union, implementing the Project "Supporting women to start a business in the period of 2017-2025", the Women's Unions at all levels in the province have organized training courses to improve business and start-up capacity; improve knowledge about e-commerce, livestream sales for over 11,000 members and women; supported nearly 4,000 women to start a business, establish nearly 700 women's enterprises, over 160 cooperatives and cooperative groups; more than 600 products of members and women were introduced on cyberspace; 396 booths were displayed and introduced in the programs. From 2017 to now, there have been 267 start-up ideas of women members participating in the "Women Start-up" contest at all levels. Of which, 86 excellent ideas/products were honored and awarded at the provincial level. Many products won awards at the regional and national levels.

With the achieved results, the Provincial Women's Union continues to direct and implement the work of "Supporting women to start a business", promoting products to support women in developing products, effective start-up and business models; coordinating with sectors and levels to continue mobilizing resources, creating conditions for women to start a business more successfully.
