Capital's youth support Thai Nguyen and Lang Son to overcome storm and flood consequences

On the morning of October 11, the Hanoi Youth Union organized volunteer teams to support disaster relief in Thai Nguyen province, in order to promptly share and support people suffering heavy losses caused by storms and floods.

The Hanoi Youth Union mobilized nearly 300 volunteers, mainly students majoring in engineering, electricity and machine repair from universities in the city, including: Phenikaa University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Electricity, Hanoi College of High Technology and University of Education , Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

The teams focused on flood and storm recovery work, such as: cleaning up school grounds, hospitals, and flooded streets; repairing motorbikes and household electrical appliances for free for people. The units proactively prepared necessary specialized equipment and supplies.

On the same morning, the Hanoi Youth Union presented 100 million VND and 700 boxes of various necessities to the people and youth of Thai Nguyen province; and sent 250 boxes of milk and necessities to the Lang Son Provincial Youth Union to support people in disaster-hit areas.

Through these activities, the Hanoi Youth Union hopes to join hands to help the people and children of Thai Nguyen and Lang Son provinces who are affected by storms and floods to soon overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives, and restore production.

Previously, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi city, Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union Nguyen Tien Hung and the working delegation visited and presented gifts to people in the areas affected by storms No. 10 and No. 11 in Da Phuc commune, Hanoi.

Here, the delegation visited and presented necessities to households in Yen Phu village, Da Phuc commune, which was deeply flooded and completely isolated, requiring boats to enter the residential area. In Trung Gia commune, an area heavily affected by rising floodwaters, the Hanoi Youth Union sent food, groceries, and essential necessities to support isolated people.

The Hanoi Youth Union is mobilizing resources and volunteers to actively join hands to help and support people in localities in the city and localities affected by storms and floods.
