U23 Vietnam begins training in UAE, preparing to compete with U23 Qatar

VHO - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said that the Vietnam U23 team has arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), officially starting an international training trip as part of the preparation plan for the 33rd SEA Games and the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.

The coaching staff reminded the players before the training session.

After settling into their accommodation and resting, recovering from the long flight, this morning, October 8, the coaching staff organized light exercises in the hotel grounds to help the players relax their muscles and release energy.

At the same time, this light training helps the players adapt to the change in weather and time zone in the UAE. The atmosphere of the whole team is comfortable, excited and shows the players' very focused spirit.

This afternoon, the Vietnam U23 team will enter a tactical training session at 321Sports Stadium at 7:00 p.m. local time (10:00 p.m. Vietnam time) to prepare for the first friendly match against U23 Qatar.

Before that, coach Dinh Hong Vinh will hold a professional meeting to plan tactics and lineup for U23 Vietnam.

The whole team is preparing for the 2 matches with U23 Qatar.

During the training period in the UAE, U23 Vietnam will play two international friendly matches with U23 Qatar, taking place on October 9 and 13.

These matches are organized by VFF in coordination with the Qatar Football Federation, to help U23 Vietnam continue to perfect the squad, practice tactics and test the force towards the 33rd SEA Games and the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.

The core force of U23 Vietnam in this training trip is the players who just won the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship and passed the 2026 Asian U23 Qualifiers.
