The Vietnam U23 team will gather at the end of August, right after the third round of the 2025-2026 V-League ends on August 29. That is also the period when the national championship gives way to the September FIFA Days.
The 2026 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers will also take place during this break. Vietnam U23 will meet 3 opponents Yemen U23, Singapore U23 and Bangladesh U23 to find a ticket to the final round next year.
Viet Tri Stadium is where Group B of the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship took place. This location continues to be chosen by the Vietnam Football Federation as the home field for Mr. Kim Sang Sik and his team.
Not only welcoming the four U23 teams, the local organizing committee also arranged for 15 officials, referees, and supervisors from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to perform their duties.
Referees from South Korea, Indonesia, Turkmenistan and Iran have been appointed by the AFC to officiate at the matches at Viet Tri Stadium. Two match supervisors and two referee supervisors have also been named.
With the home team advantage and the success of the 2025 U23 Southeast Asian Championship, U23 Vietnam is full of enthusiasm and aims to reach the U23 Asian finals by finishing first in Group C.
In addition, Mr. Kim Sang Sik also has the advantage of "watching" and evaluating the performance of some key players of the Vietnam U23 team in the first 3 rounds of V-League 2025-2026, to make a list of players to be called up.
The 2026 AFC U23 Championship finals will take place from January 7 to 25 next year in Saudi Arabia. VFF and VPF have decided to stop the 2025-2026 V-League so that U23 Vietnam can focus its strongest force for the tournament.
