Why did Nguyen Quang Hai suddenly withdraw from Mr. Kim Sang-sik's team before the 2027 Asian Cup?

TPO - Coach Kim Sang-sik received bad news when midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai said goodbye to the Vietnamese team before two matches against Nepal in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.

The absence of Quang Hai is a loss for the Vietnamese team.

Previously, Nguyen Quang Hai suffered a shoulder injury and missed several matches for the Hanoi Police. On October 3, he was taken for an MRI scan to assess the extent of the injury. According to the doctor's assessment, Quang Hai needs time to rest to ensure his health.

After receiving the report, coach Kim Sang-sik decided not to call Quang Hai to the Vietnam national team. The Korean coach also kept the list of 23 players for the Vietnam national team to prepare for the two matches with Nepal, without adding any additional personnel.

According to the plan, today, October 4, the Vietnamese team will gather in Ho Chi Minh City. Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will have 5 days to prepare for the first leg against Nepal (October 9), before playing the return leg on October 14. Both matches will take place at Thong Nhat Stadium.

In the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup, the Vietnamese team is currently ranked second after Malaysia. Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will have to win all 6 points against Nepal to create momentum for the return match against Malaysia next year.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has announced plans to sell tickets for these two matches, at prices of VND200,000 and VND400,000. Tickets will be released online exclusively on the OneU (VinID) application in two phases, from September 29 to October 5 and from October 6 to 7 or until sold out. The organizers will also open direct sales at Go Dau and Thong Nhat stadiums from October 4.
