In the first leg on October 9, despite losing 0-1 to U23 Qatar, U23 Vietnam still had a positive performance. Coach Dinh Hong Vinh changed many positions to experiment, but U23 Vietnam still maintained a proactive playing style.
After the match, coach Dinh Hong Vinh and his players learned many lessons. Although not satisfied with the result, the performance of U23 Vietnam showed solidarity and fighting spirit.

In the rematch against U23 Qatar at 10pm on October 13 (Vietnam time), coach Dinh Hong Vinh continued to shuffle the squad, using the maximum number of players to practice, gain experience as well as evaluate the performance of each position.
Reserve players or players who rarely played in previous matches were given opportunities, such as goalkeeper Nguyen Tan, defender Tran Nam Hai, Nguyen Tuan Phong, midfielder Nguyen Thai Son (captain), striker Le Van Thuan, or Vietnamese-American player Tran Thanh Trung.
With this lineup, U23 Vietnam did not play smoothly, conceding 2 goals in the first half. Before the break, U23 Vietnam had a goal to reduce the score to 1-2 by Van Thuan.

In the second half, coach Dinh Hong Vinh changed the personnel when he put on the field some key players such as Nguyen Van Truong, Pham Ly Duc, Viktor Le, Vo Anh Quan... Thanks to that, U23 Vietnam played better. Quoc Viet was the one who equalized 2-2, but in the 78th minute, a loss of concentration made U23 Vietnam pay the price with the third goal. In the end, U23 Vietnam lost 2-3.
After two friendly matches losing to U23 Qatar with scores of 0-1 and 2-3, coach Dinh Hong Vinh and his team returned home from the UAE to prepare for round 7 of the V-League 2025-2026 taking place this weekend.
