According to Israel Nation News , the Israeli National Censorship Authority on October 22 allowed the publication of a photo showing damage to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's family home in the coastal town of Caesarea after a Hezbollah drone attack last weekend.
The photo shows the explosion cracked the bedroom window, but fortunately no one was injured.
On the morning of October 19, three UAVs believed to be launched by Hezbollah from Lebanon targeted Prime Minister Netanyahu’s private home in Caesarea. At the time of the attack, Prime Minister Netanyahu and his wife Sara were not present.
The Israeli military said a drone launched from Lebanon hit a building in Caesarea, but did not specify which one. Meanwhile, two drones that entered Israeli airspace were intercepted.
According to Axios , this is the first time a target directly linked to Mr. Netanyahu has been attacked since Israel's war with Iran-backed forces in the Middle East broke out late last year.
The Israeli prime minister later accused Hezbollah and Iran of being behind the attack, calling it "a bitter mistake".
He said the attack would not deter him from continuing his fight with Hezbollah and Hamas and that anyone who harmed Israelis would pay "a heavy price".
"We will continue to fight. We will bring the hostages in Gaza back, we will bring the residents of the North home," he stressed.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack today. "The Islamic Resistance claims full and sole responsibility for the Caesarea attack and the targeting of Netanyahu's home," Hezbollah's head of media relations, Mohammad Afif, said.
The incident took place amid escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon. Since late last month, Israel has stepped up its campaign of attacks on Hezbollah targets inside Lebanon, killing a number of leaders and senior commanders and destroying weapons depots of this force.
Hezbollah last week declared that its war with Israel had entered a new phase. It used precision-guided missiles against Israel for the first time.
Hezbollah announced on October 22 that it had fired a series of rockets at the base of Israel's Military Intelligence Unit 8200 on the outskirts of Tel Aviv and a naval base near the port city of Haifa. Israel confirmed the attack but said there were no casualties or significant damage.
