The 60-year-old Italian tactician is currently unemployed after leaving his position as head coach of the Saudi Arabian national team a year ago. According to some sources, Mancini has shared with friends that he believes he has a chance if the "Red Devils" decide to make changes on the coaching bench.
Mancini is no stranger to Manchester. He spent three and a half years in charge of Man City, helping the club end a 34-year trophy drought with the 2011 FA Cup, before taking home the Premier League title in the 2011/12 season.
For many Man City fans, Mancini remains an unforgettable icon, even though he was sacked in 2013 after 191 matches in charge, winning 113 and losing only 40.
In addition to his success at the Etihad, Mancini's CV also includes Euro 2020 victory with Italy, where he and the Azzurri defeated England in the final at Wembley. He has also managed many big clubs such as Inter Milan, Galatasaray and Zenit Saint Petersburg.
In addition to Mancini, the list of potential candidates for the hot seat at Old Trafford also includes former England coach Gareth Southgate and Oliver Glasner – the current captain of Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile, Amorim still receives public support from Sir Jim Ratcliffe. The Portuguese coach is said to have a 3-year term to prove his ability at MU.
