The storm and flood have caused many schools in Ha Giang 1 ward and Ha Giang 2 ward such as Hoa Sen Kindergarten, Minh Khai Primary School, Quang Trung Primary School, the provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities... to be severely affected, with damaged facilities, fallen trees, and mud-filled schoolyards and classrooms.

On October 4-5, the Board of Directors of the Department of Education and Training of Tuyen Quang, together with officers and civil servants of the Department's departments and more than 170 officers and teachers of 12 schools in communes less affected by storm No. 10 visited, encouraged, gave gifts and supported sanitation and cleaning at a number of schools heavily affected by floods in Ha Giang 1 and Ha Giang 2 wards, Tuyen Quang province.

According to information from the Department of Education and Training of Tuyen Quang, in the recent flood, 43 schools were affected (1 school had 1 student drowned at home), 42 schools suffered damage to facilities, total damage of about 10.5 billion VND; the number of schools that had to let students stay home was 462, the total number of students staying home was 212,763;

It is expected that on October 6, most schools will organize for students to return to normal school (except in cases of force majeure).

On the morning of October 5, Nguyen Van Huyen High School (An Tuong Ward) continued to support Quang Trung Primary School, Ha Giang 2 Ward, in cleaning up after the impact of storm No. 10.

Schools with minor damage have proactively overcome the consequences and quickly stabilized their organizations. 14 schools with major damage (total damage over 100 million/school) are expected to request the province to consider supporting the recovery in the coming time.
