The National Assembly Standing Committee considered many important contents at the 36th session.

Regarding the work of law-making, at the meeting, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave opinions on the following projects: Law on Electricity (amended); Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Technical Standards and Regulations; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army; and gave opinions on explaining, accepting and revising the draft Law on People's Air Defense.

In addition, the addition of the draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Health Insurance and the draft Law on Disease Prevention to the Law and Ordinance Development Program was also considered and decided at the meeting.

Regarding supervision, the National Assembly Standing Committee reviewed the report of the Supervisory Delegation and approved the National Assembly Standing Committee's thematic supervision resolution on "Implementation of policies and laws on innovation of the organizational and management system, improving the quality and efficiency of operations of public service units in the 2018-2023 period". After discussion, the National Assembly Standing Committee will vote to approve the draft resolution on this thematic supervision.

Comment on the draft Supervision Plan and report outline of the Supervision Delegation of the National Assembly Standing Committee on "Implementation of policies and laws on development and use of human resources to meet the requirements of socio -economic development, especially high-quality human resources"; review the National Assembly's report on people's petitions in July 2024.

In particular, the National Assembly Standing Committee also spent 1.5 days organizing questioning and answering activities of National Assembly deputies.

Regarding important issues, the National Assembly Standing Committee considered and approved the draft Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee stipulating a number of contents related to the resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee on urban classification, standards of administrative units and classification of administrative units, arrangement of district-level and commune-level administrative units in the 2023-2030 period to implement the arrangement of urban administrative units in the 2023-2025 period.

Along with that, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave opinions on the organization of the National Assembly Forum on supervisory activities; considered and approved the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; considered and decided on the supplement to the 2024 state budget estimate of the Ministry of Health.
