Continuing the 49th Session, this afternoon (September 26), the National Assembly Standing Committee gave its opinions on the Report on the results of the National Assembly's supervision delegation's supervision on "Implementation of policies and laws on environmental protection since the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 took effect".
According to the report, the promulgation of the Law on Environmental Protection in 2020 has institutionalized the Party's policy on the environment with many positive results. However, the report also pointed out limitations and shortcomings, including the slow issuance of guiding documents, complicated environmental pollution, and outdated waste treatment infrastructure.
The National Assembly Standing Committee proposed increasing resources for environmental protection, thoroughly handling "hot spots" of environmental pollution such as sources of air pollution in large cities, and controlling industrial wastewater.

The National Assembly Standing Committee highly appreciated the report of the Supervisory Delegation, proposed to review and supplement tasks and solutions to ensure consistency; requested relevant agencies to closely coordinate and complete documents to be submitted to the National Assembly at the 10th Session.
Previously, giving opinions on two draft Resolutions related to organizing meetings with voters and introducing candidates for National Assembly and People's Council deputies, the National Assembly Standing Committee agreed to draft the Resolutions according to simplified procedures and order, and approved the amendment of regulations on the subjects chairing and convening voter conferences in state agencies, political organizations, socio-political organizations, social organizations, public service units and economic organizations.
Regarding the organization of conferences to collect voters' opinions at workplaces, the National Assembly Standing Committee proposed to maintain current regulations, with the National Assembly bloc only organizing one joint conference to ensure speed and brevity.
At the Session, the National Assembly Standing Committee passed two Resolutions promulgating model working regulations of the People's Councils of provinces and cities and of the People's Councils of communes, wards and special zones.
