According to Architect Tran Ngoc Chinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Urban Development Planning Association, former Deputy Minister of Construction , the new space "with forests and sea" will create a foundation for the Central Highlands to make a strong breakthrough, affirming its position on the national development map.
The majestic and beautiful Central Highlands is home to 54 ethnic groups. It has a unique cultural identity, a special climate and rich resources with many valuable mineral and rare earth mines. The decision to merge the Central Highlands provinces with neighboring coastal areas is considered a bold move in planning thinking, opening a new era of development for this strategic region. According to architect Tran Ngoc Chinh, after the merger, the Central Highlands provinces all have a direction of development towards the sea. This has solved the logistics problem, helping the new provinces to directly bring goods to seaports, increasing competitiveness in terms of cost and time. However, to realize this advantage, it is necessary to strengthen the connection between the Central Highlands and the South Central Coast to form an East-West connection axis, connecting the sea and the mountains, between the plains and the plateaus. This connection is not only about traffic and transportation, but also about economic , cultural and historical flows, expanding the space for sustainable and effective development.
In addition, from the depth of history, the Central Highlands has formed a cultural space bearing the mark of the community and national identity. Here, each gong sound echoing in the great forest is the heartbeat of spiritual life, connecting people with nature, with the community and their roots. New rice celebrations, elephant racing competitions, gong performances... all contain a philosophy of living in harmony with nature, honoring labor and the desire for abundance. Architect Tran Ngoc Chinh emphasized that, in the midst of modernity, the cultural values of the Central Highlands are still a solid spiritual foundation, the "soul" for this land to develop without losing its own identity. Despite major changes in administration, the task of preserving and conserving the culture and history of the Central Highlands must be put first. This is a comprehensive problem that requires synchronization between planning and management to turn strategic vision into breakthrough reality.
