Vietnam aims to attract foreign investment in high-tech sectors.

According to VNA Special Envoy, within the framework of his State visit to Ireland, on October 3, in the capital Dublin, General Secretary and President To Lam received Mr. Patrick McKillen, Chairman of Pacific Land Group, Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Ireland.

At the reception, General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his pleasure to meet Mr. Patrick McKillen during his State visit to Ireland; highly appreciated the role and close coordination of Mr. Patrick McKillen in his capacity as the first Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Ireland and the Honorary Consulate Office, which contributed significantly to consolidating and strengthening relations between the two countries.

To promote cooperation and connection between the two countries in the coming time, General Secretary and President To Lam hopes that the Honorary Consul will play a bridging role in promoting delegation exchanges between localities and businesses of both sides; and encourage Irish businesses, including Pacific Land Group, to continue expanding cooperation activities with Vietnamese partners in areas of mutual interest such as education, science and technology, innovation, renewable energy, etc.

Pleased to announce that Vietnam is taking steps to establish an Embassy in Ireland, General Secretary and President To Lam believes that the Vietnamese Embassy will actively contribute to the positive development of the relationship between the two countries; and hopes to continue receiving support from Mr. Patrick McKillen in the process of establishing and operating the Vietnamese Embassy in Ireland.

General Secretary and President To Lam said that during his State visit to Ireland, the two sides had in-depth discussions and agreed on many important measures to maximize the potential and room for cooperation in traditional areas of cooperation such as trade-investment, development cooperation, education-training, science-technology, as well as in new areas such as renewable energy, innovation, high-quality agriculture, etc.

High-tech foreign investment projects will contribute to supporting productivity improvement, technological innovation, and enhancing Vietnam's competitiveness. Ireland is one of the leading European countries in the high-tech sector.

General Secretary and President To Lam hopes that the Hanoi High-Tech Bio-Tech Park will be a destination for high-quality international science and technology investment projects, in line with high-tech development trends in the world and Vietnam's high-tech development policies and orientations, with priority given to the field of biotechnology.

For his part, Mr. Patrick McKillen expressed his thanks to General Secretary and President To Lam for taking the time to welcome him. The Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Ireland was pleased to announce that Pacific Land Group has been actively promoting cooperation activities with Vietnamese enterprises.

The Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Ireland affirmed that he always actively supports the Vietnamese community in Ireland, including the student community; organizes activities to promote the country and people of Vietnam in the capital Dublin in particular and Ireland in general, thereby contributing to expanding mutual understanding and promoting multifaceted bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

As an entrepreneur, Mr. Patrick McKillen expressed his desire to develop biotechnology investment in Vietnam; actively promote projects related to cooperation in developing biotechnology projects.

Mr. Patrick McKillen said that Pacific Land Group has been granted the Decision to establish the Hanoi High-Tech Bio-Tech Park. The Group has closely coordinated with the Hanoi People's Committee and relevant ministries and branches to complete the necessary procedures to soon implement the Project, ensuring efficiency and compliance with regulations.

Mr. Patrick McKillen hopes to continue receiving support from Vietnamese ministries, departments and branches in the coming time so that the Project can be implemented effectively./.
