VHO - The 47th session of the World Heritage Committee is reviewing two World Heritage dossiers of Vietnam, including the inter-provincial dossier of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Complex of Monuments and Landscapes and the multinational dossier of Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park and Hin Nam No National Park (Vietnam and Laos).

Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong and the Vietnamese delegation at the 47th session of the World Heritage Committee

The 47th session of the World Heritage Committee (1972 UNESCO Convention on the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage) is taking place in Paris (France). The delegation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is led by Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong and 3 experts in the Expert Group representing Vietnam at the World Heritage Committee, including Associate Professor, Dr. Le Thi Thu Hien - Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage; Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Chairman of the National Cultural Heritage Council; Dr. Nguyen Viet Cuong - Chief of Office of the Department of Cultural Heritage.

This session will focus on evaluating the 2025 World Heritage nomination dossiers. Accordingly, Vietnam has 2 nomination dossiers including: Inter-provincial dossier of Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscape Complex and Multi-national dossier of Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park and Hin Nam No National Park (Vietnam and Laos).

Vietnam has 2 nomination dossiers for World Heritage listing, including: Inter-provincial dossier of Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscape Complex and Multinational dossier of Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park and Hin Nam No National Park (Vietnam and Laos).

The meeting also assessed the situation of protecting World Heritage sites, including the conservation status of the Central Sector of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long - Hanoi ; the strategy for building human resources for world heritage; and updating the List of World Heritage sites in danger.
