In the first 9 months of 2025, Vietnam welcomed 15.4 million international visitors, an increase of 21.5% over the same period in 2024. In September alone, it welcomed nearly 1.52 million international visitors, an increase of 19.5% over the same period in 2024.

The "big brother" international tourist market continues to call China and South Korea

According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism , in terms of market size, China and South Korea continue to be the two largest markets sending tourists to Vietnam, contributing nearly half of the total number of international visitors to Vietnam.

Of which, China ranked first, reaching 3.9 million visits (accounting for 25.2%); South Korea ranked second, reaching 3.2 million visits (accounting for 21%).

The following markets include Taiwan (ranked 3rd with 926,000 arrivals), the US (ranked 4th with 623,000 arrivals), and Japan (ranked 5th with 618,000 arrivals).

Among the 10 largest markets for Vietnamese tourism are India (505,000 arrivals), Cambodia (490,000 arrivals), Russia (435,000 arrivals), Malaysia (405,000 arrivals), and Australia (401,000 arrivals).

India to enter top 10 customer sending markets in 9 months of 2025

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism informed and emphasized the remarkable points of the Indian market in the first 9 months of 2025. Specifically, this market has risen to 6th place in the top 10 leading markets.

Regarding the growth drivers of international visitors to Vietnam, notable growth comes from Europe (up 34.9%), Asia (up 20.9%), Australia (up 13.7%), America (up 8.5%), and Africa (up 4.7%).

Along with the motivation from the open visa policy, it is expected that in the remaining months of 2025, the number of international visitors to Vietnam will continue to grow dramatically, the tourism industry will complete the 2025 target of Vietnam welcoming about 25 million international visitors.

Russian market up more than 173%

According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, markets in Europe witnessed good growth results, in which the Russian market continued to be the largest market in the European region with very fast growth, increasing by more than 173%.

The reason is the positive impact of the visa exemption policy and the effective implementation of tourism promotion programs in Russia by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and localities and businesses in recent times.

In addition, the main markets in Europe all grew well, such as France increased by 22.6%, UK increased by more than 21%, Germany increased by more than 17%, Poland increased by 46%, Italy increased by more than 22%, Norway increased by nearly 20%...
