Why did Vietnam's stock market suddenly increase strongly, becoming one of the top in the region?

After a series of days of struggle and adjustment, the stock market suddenly increased sharply in the first session of the week. Many investors' accounts turned green again when a series of stocks increased to the limit.

After adjusting to the 1,640 level last weekend, VN-Index suddenly reversed in today's session when it opened up nearly 30 points. At the end of the session, the HoSE index jumped to the 1,695.5 point level after adding nearly 50 points.

Most Asian stock markets were positive today. With a 4.96% increase, Japan's Nikkei 225 index was the region's strongest gainer.

Next is VN-Index with more than 3%. China's stock index also improved with an increase of more than 1%. While many places increased less.

Expert perspective on stock market surge

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tuyen - Head of TVI Securities Analysis Department - said that the strong increase could come from investors anticipating information about the market upgrade results, expected to be announced by the international rating organization FTSE Russell on the morning of October 8 (Wednesday, Vietnam time).

According to T+2 trading regulations, investors who buy shares in today's session will receive their goods on the afternoon of October 8, exactly when the upgrade results are announced.

Therefore, many investors choose to buy in advance of the event, with the expectation that if the upgrade information is confirmed, the stock price can increase sharply, Mr. Tuyen said.

It is clear that active cash flow has poured strongly into the market since the beginning of the session, especially the securities group - an industry group considered to benefit directly from increased liquidity and positive investor sentiment.

In which SSI is the typical code leading the increase, then the cash flow spread to other industries such as banking, steel and real estate.

VN-Index's growth rate is among the highest in the region.

Mr. Tuyen predicts that tomorrow's trading session (October 7) will likely maintain its upward momentum due to inertia, thanks to speculative demand before the event.

However, this person warned about the possibility that the third session (October 8) could record strong fluctuations, especially in the afternoon session, when the amount of stocks bought trading T+ receives the upgrade results into the account.

"In general, the prospects of each enterprise in the coming time will depend largely on the third quarter business results, expected to be announced in October," Mr. Tuyen said, believing that most business results will be positive as enterprises are in the bottoming cycle.

Ms. Nguyen Phuong Nga - analyst of Vietcombank Securities (VCBS) - commented: VN-Index had an impressive increase, led by large-cap stocks, with market liquidity clearly increasing.

In the context of a recovering trend forming, investors should continue to hold stocks that are showing positive developments in their portfolios, and at the same time take advantage of fluctuations during the session to disburse T+ wave trading for stocks in recovering industry groups and attract cash flow after the accumulation period.

Some notable industries in the current period include: Banking, securities and real estate, Vietcombank experts recommend.
