Dinh Trang Thuong Commune strictly handles illegal stone mining

The leader of the People's Committee of Dinh Trang Thuong Commune (Lam Dong) said that he is directing and assigning the Commune Police to coordinate in thoroughly handling violations related to illegal stone mining in the area as reported by Lam Dong Newspaper.

On the afternoon of July 16, through a direct exchange, Mr. Bui Nhu Thinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dinh Trang Thuong Commune, said: After receiving information related to the illegal stone mining incident that occurred in Hamlet 10 (former Tan Lam Commune, now Dinh Trang Thuong Commune), the leaders of the People's Committee of the Commune were present to directly inspect the scene. The locality assigned the Commune Police to coordinate with relevant agencies to inspect, verify and clarify related violations for strict handling according to the provisions of the law. The view of the commune leaders is that any violations must be dealt with thoroughly.

According to the reporter's records at 11:00 a.m. on July 16, at this quarry, tractors were still entering to transport rocks out.

According to Mr. Thinh, up to now, local authorities have recorded the scene of the incident and requested the violators to stop all stone mining activities here.
Authorities have identified Mr. Nguyen Van Thang (Hoa Ninh commune, Lam Dong province) as the violator related to the above-mentioned stone quarry.

Illegal stone mining activities at the quarry were recorded by reporters yesterday morning, July 15.

According to the incident report, at the time of inspection, there were more than 3,200 finished split stones at the scene. Mr. Thang admitted that he hired people to mine the above mentioned stones from July 12 to 15. Working with the authorities, Mr. Thang could not present documents related to the stone mining activities licensed by the competent authorities.

At the site there are many exposed orphaned rocks that have not been split into finished products.

At the time the authorities arrived to inspect, there was a dump truck at the scene to get rocks. When it discovered the authorities, it turned around and 6 people were mining (splitting rocks). About 200 meters from this quarry, there was also an excavator that was not working. At the scene, there were also many orphaned rocks (unable to count specifically).

“Currently, the Commune Police and relevant agencies are focusing on clarifying the violations related to this quarry. After specifically calculating the quantity of finished stone, area and other related violations, the Commune People's Committee will draw up a record of administrative violations for handling or transfer to the competent authorities for handling according to the provisions of law,” informed Mr. Bui Nhu Thinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dinh Trang Thuong Commune.
