In the third set, Bulgaria was almost completely transformed, the athletes of the Eastern European team played very well, continuously scoring points. Bulgaria won this set with a score of 25-17, narrowing the gap to 1-2.

In the fourth quarter, the US team wanted to end the match quickly. They attacked continuously, but Bulgaria played better and better. Bulgaria ended the quarter with a close win of 25-22, leveling the score at 2-2 after 4 quarters.

In the fifth and decisive set, both sides continued to fight for each point and Bulgaria once again won by a close score of 15-13. In the end, the Bulgarian men's volleyball team won 3-2 (21-25, 19-25, 25-17, 25-22 and 15-13) against the US team.

Bulgaria has qualified for the semi-finals. Bulgaria's opponent in the semi-finals will be the Czech Republic men's volleyball team. The Czech Republic (ranked 18th in the world) defeated Iran (ranked 15th in the world) 3-1 (22-25, 27-25, 25-20 and 25-21) in the other quarter-final yesterday, in the Philippines.

The semi-final matches will take place on September 27, Czech Republic vs Bulgaria and Poland (world number 1) vs Italy (world number 5). Among them, the Italian men's volleyball team is the reigning world champion. Therefore, the semi-final match between Italy and Poland is considered an "early final".
