Building Danang University of Foreign Languages ​​into a multilingual cultural center

GD&TĐ - On September 11, Danang University of Foreign Languages ​​celebrated its 40th anniversary, setting the goal of becoming a multilingual cultural center in the new context.

Attending the ceremony were representatives of several departments and offices of the Ministry of Education and Training , the Da Nang City government and several localities in the Central Highlands region, domestic and foreign partner enterprises and organizations, along with staff, lecturers and students of the school through many generations.

The University of Foreign Languages, University of Danang is among the first group of higher education institutions to be accredited to meet national education quality standards (cycle 1, 2). The school has 4 training programs accredited according to AUN-QA international standards; University training programs in French Pedagogy, Chinese Pedagogy, French, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian languages ​​and high-quality training programs meeting the quality standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Long presented a speech at the Commemoration Ceremony.

The school has been entrusted by the Ministry of Education and Training with many important tasks in the Foreign Language Teaching and Learning Project; is the core unit to foster foreign language skills, pedagogical skills and testing for about 5,000 lecturers, teachers, and officials of local agencies and departments and is taking the initiative to take the lead in the policy of making English the second language in schools.

School leaders received a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Long, Principal of the school shared: "Looking back on the past, proud of the achievements, confident in the future, the University of Foreign Languages, Danang University is deeply aware of its mission and role in the context, the urgent requirement to implement the policy: "Enhancing foreign language teaching and learning, gradually making English the second language in schools" according to Conclusion No. 91-KL/TW), "expanding Vietnamese language teaching, spreading Vietnamese cultural values ​​and traditions abroad, especially in the Vietnamese community abroad" according to Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW).

The University of Foreign Languages, University of Danang plans to be autonomous in regular expenditure from 2026, determined to innovate the governance model, improve financial capacity and necessary conditions to continue to develop steadily.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, Director of Danang University, congratulated the University of Foreign Languages ​​on 40 years of establishment and development; at the same time, he affirmed that entering a new phase is a great opportunity for the school to create a breakthrough in development.

The University of Foreign Languages ​​needs to focus on building a development strategy with the determination to become the leading language training institution in the country, aiming at the region and the world, contributing to the whole country entering the era of integration and development; at the same time, pioneering in making English the second language, being a reliable address in training bachelors and language experts for integration needs.

On this occasion, the school was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister for the collective with outstanding achievements in training; Certificate of Merit from the Consul General of Lao PDR, Emulation Flag from the People's Committee of Da Nang City recognizing 40 years of construction and development. Many collectives and individuals of the school received Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training, and Certificates of Merit from the Director of Da Nang University.
