Passenger bus caught fire while running on Nha Trang - Cam Lam highway

News from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Khanh Hoa Province Police this afternoon (October 4) said that a sleeper bus suddenly caught fire while operating on the North-South Expressway, Nha Trang - Cam Lam section.

Previously, at about 4:30 a.m. the same day, the sleeper bus with license plate 18B-023.33 driven by Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan (born in 1976, residing in Nam Dinh ward, Hoa Binh province), was running on the Nha Trang - Cam Lam expressway from the North to km 58 in Nam Cam Ranh commune (Khanh Hoa), when the rear right tire exploded, the body of the car caught fire. Immediately, the driver slowed down, turned the car to the side of the road so that nearly 30 people on board could escape.

Police are trying to put out the fire.

Immediately after receiving the news of the fire, 13 officers and soldiers of the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Zone 2 under the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Khanh Hoa Province, led by Lieutenant Colonel, Team Leader Dinh Truong Giang, quickly got into two specialized cars and sped to the scene.

Because the fire had broken out fiercely before, when the fire was extinguished, only the iron frame remained of the passenger bus.

After more than 40 minutes of deploying water and foam firefighting teams, the fire was extinguished at 5:55 a.m. the same day. However, due to the intense fire that had broken out earlier, the passenger bus was burned down, leaving only the iron frame. The fire did not cause any human casualties, but property damage was estimated at about 1.5 billion VND.

It is known that the owner of the passenger car involved in the accident is Hoa Binh Transport Cooperative, headquartered at 436 Tran Hung Dao, Nam Dinh Ward (Ninh Binh). At the time of the fire, the car was carrying passengers on the Nam Dinh - Kien Giang route.
